What if…2

robbers.jpg                            Lets do this…

www.marionbell.com/what-if-2

This is my post for Wednesday December 4th…

Hey, would you go and rob a bank with someone?? What would your answer be, and would you gladly go and help… Would you consider running the other way, or act like you don’t speak their language…. Would you point and yell, “the police are coming this way”… Would you calmly ask him to have beer with you, then talk over his plans and ask what bank… Would you go to the police station and give a description of the man and where you seen him… Would you sit outside the bank and watch the whole robbery go down.. Would you beat him up and take the money he just stole from the bank… Would you keep the money, and return it to the police.. Would you move far away, and never work again… Really, that is a lot of ‘what if’s’ for one topic…. Personally, I would love to have the money, but the fact of being a wanted criminal would keep me away from that proposition… I would also become someone who speaks a different language… :O

fires.jpg                             Fire and someone trapped…

What if: you came across a house on fire, and there was a child crying from an open window… What would be the first thing you would do?? Would you break down the door and race through the burning house to the room where the child is waiting.. Would you scoop the child up in your arms and carry the child to safety…. Would you return into the burning house to see if anyone else was in the house…. Or, would you just call 911, and wait for the firer fighters to show up… Would you let someone else save the child while you watched… Would you be the hero of the day?? This would likely be a tough one for some people, and not so hard for others… I personally would be the crazy one who goes charging into the building to save the child…. I would give the call to 911 to the closest person I seen… There are many stories of those who save or help other people everyday.. Firer fighters are a classic example of hero’s…. Their job takes them to life threatening events each and every day… There are brave bystanders that put their own on the line too… So, to all those that go above and beyond… “You are definitely, super hero’s… 🙂 🙂

money.jpg                        A big pile of money…

What if: Someone walked up to you and handed you one million dollars… Would you stand there stunned and unable to speak.. Would you be wearing the biggest smile on your face.. Would you just look at them as they were crazy… Looking at them with all your face twisted and distorted… Would you grab the money and run… Would you kiss them and try to shake their hand right off… Would you pinch yourself to make sure you were a wake… That would be a very strange event to have happen to anyone… I would hesitant to believe if it was true, and not a gag played on you by one of your friends… And once I was convinced it was real, I would be humbled by someone else’s kindness and their generosity.. 😮

jump.jpg                                Jumping off a cliff…

What if: Someone wanted you to jump off a cliff wearing a flying suit… Would you politely say “No Thanks”… Would you let them know that you had never done that before, and have no idea how the jump is done… Would you explain that you are afraid of places any higher than ten inches off the ground… Would you be brave and say “Yes” just to make your friends think you were not afraid.. Would you do it to mark the jump off your bucket list… Personally, I would be the person standing 600 yards back from the edge… I would politely decline… 🙂 🙂 I’d be scared out of my wits… :0 :0

Long weekend..

www.marionbell.com/long-weekend

Hello everyone.. I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. The weather here was very hot during the day and cooler in the evenings. Nights like this always make sleeping a little more enjoyable. In my little corner of the universe, we had a gathering of artisans selling their wares. A Festival, that falls on the first long weekend of August. The walkway along the lake, was packed with people, everyday during the long weekend. There are lots of artists that flock to this area, just for the chance to explore the works of others. Or, to have their talents recognized by other artists. There were countless people looking for just that one item that would add a special touch to their surroundings. For those on the hunt for food, there was plenty to eat, beer to drink, and even a few ice-cream venders. I think they used to be called them the Dickie-Dee. These were carts that stood stable in one area. Heck, you could even find the right size of hot tub, or Infinity pool to install in your back yard. You could even put it in your house, for year round fun and exercise. That sounds like a very good deal.. Just think, splashing around in a nice warm pool, while you watch the snow fall outside. ‘What a way to live…’  You could add a new barbeque to the list of summer items you desire. One with three cooking grills, or one that could be used as an entire part of an outdoors kitchen design. The uses and designs are endless…

As we moved along the walking path, we can upon a carnival set up with rides for the young and the old. Carnival games that required no skill to win. Then, there are other games that take a lot of talent to win, or just a big pocket of money to buy that one stuff toy for a loved one.. Cotton candy, caramel popcorn, candied apples, hot dogs, fries, burgers, and ice-cream by the buckets. Frozen treats to cool you down, and coffee just to give you that little kick you needed to continue on your way. The screams of excited children, as the rides tossed them from side to side, and up and down. The sounds of the carnival ringing in your ears, as music played loudly. So loud that it made me think that there was a contest going on for the loudest noise…. Parents taking pictures of children franticly waving from a ride that will likely scar them to death. Parent patiently standing still, watching, and waiting till the ride stops. The endless trek to the next ride, then wait all over again… ‘Oh, the fun of the carnival.’ The memories playing in your head of your youth, and how you want to run away with the carnival.. The time you barfed on Peggy-Sue, and how mad she was that day on the whirl-around.. What away to find out spinning was not your thing.

DSCN1265.JPG      Fading with time, while new blooms wait to appear…..

The lake filled with parents and children of all ages.. The shade of the trees, where lovers sit and play with their cell phones. ‘Oh, where did love go.’ Picnics on the grass by the lake. The smell of hot dogs, fried chicken, or maybe even take out.. The life guard perched high on a chair, above those seeking the cool of the water.. Little children running away from the small waves the lap upon the shore. Standing still in the water, watching the little fish nibble at your toes… The fun and beauty of a summers day by the lake. Softer music can be heard from the voice of a song bird, as she sings her tune to the people watching in the crowd. Groups on the stage, belting out the tunes, as people dance to the beat. The sounds of a summer festival.. We are now in August, and summer is slipping slowly away. The stores are stocked with back-to-school items. No more summer clothing can be found, as the clothes have been carefully packed away. The sounds of parents and unhappy children shopping in the stores. Parents on edge, as young Johnny decides to run away from them. There he is playing in the toy section of the store. Soon winter clothes, boots and coats will fill the hangers, where summer clothing once hung. Stop rushing the winter retailers. It’s too darn depressing to even think of, at least for me.

To all those, that go to any-kind of festival, carnival, picnic by the lake, or family outing. I wish you all fun and safe journeys.. See you later…. 🙂 🙂

I wish to thank all of my followers, readers, or visitor for being so patient this last week while I was off.. Thank you… 🙂 🙂 As usual the photos in this banter have been taken by myself.. Maggie.. Hope you enjoy.. 🙂 🙂

This past week was rough at times, and still the head aches leave me unable to function. But, I press on and try to not let them stop me. If the weather is to blame, I wish it would stop bothering me. I do feel better than before, but not quite totally healthy. I choose not to go to the doctor as they tend to be quacks, who have no idea what they are doing. I have learned techniques to put my pain at bay. It helps the bad pain disappear. The lingering pain is a pain in the butt, but I will settle for that…. Till later… I wish you all well.. And be safe out there…:) 🙂

Visiting the garden (4)

DSCN1044 (2).JPG        You can’t see me….

www.marionbell.com/visiting-the-garden-4

Sally and Jody had bought a surprise for the children after they had eaten their supper. Everyone walked down the lane to wait for the bus to drop Tory off. Sally politely asked the bus driver to allow Amber to get off at Tory’s house, just this one time.
