This is my banter for Wednesday August 21st…

Hi there:: It’s really nice to see all your smiling faces out there.. How was your Tuesday?? I hope it was great, and another day gone this week.. We are on Hump Day, and there is no other way to go from here but to the weekend.. It’s funny how people use the weekend as carrot to get them through the week.. It was the only way I could get through the week when I used to work.. Then, when the weekend comes, there is not enough time to do all the things you like to do on your time off.. We all shuffle our feet, pouting, kicking and screaming all the way back to work on Monday.. I vote for four day weeks and long weekends every week.. Now a days, there is very little time for family. We hustle here and there, for this and that.. Whatever happened to just saying, to heck with it all and just kick back and relax.. We all strive too much for the all mighty dollar.. The more we have, the more we want.. That includes me as well.. Life is too short.. Tomorrow, could be our last day.. As morbid as it seems that’s how life goes.. I long for the Sunday dinner, and nothing but family time.. It’s a waste to have given that up for our desirer to be rich.. I don’t know if any body thinks or feels the same as I do.. Life is passing by way too fast.. I’m getting older, and haven’t quite come to terms with that..

DSCN1573 (2).JPG               This bee seems to have been working over-time….

Tuesday was a hot one in my part of the world.. Kind of muggy. But, curiously there was a warm yet calming breeze.. I ventured out to water the plants, and hang out with the dogs. The skies above look pretty dark at times, but there was no rain.. After dinner we watched the news and found out that our area is right on the tail of a storm.. About thirty minutes ago the rain fell in large drops, but only lasted a bit of time.. The good old weather man said the storm was going to be a big one. He gave everyone a few  signs to watch out for in the skies.. When the rain was tapping on the gazebo, the sky was greenish black, with the sun shining off in the distance.. That may have been it.. If that’s the case, that’s a bonus.. At this point there is a lot of the day to go through.. There maybe more rain.. I would be very unhappy if I woke up with the wind slapping against the bedroom window. With things flying every where.. That’s not a way to wake up.. I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that doesn’t happen.. Whatever happens I will be here snuggled in with the dogs.. Where ever you are I hope and pray that you are safe..

DSCN1597.JPG               This is Sun flower plant…

There is a story to this plant.. It started to grow in spring, in a pot on the deck after the winter.. We had no idea what it could be, nor how it got there.. I didn’t plant it, nor did my hubby.. It just appeared in the pot.. While it was growing the top of the plant was snipped off and taken by a nasty squirrel.. Not only did it take off the top, it took it with him.. We figured that was the end of the plant.. We did not get rid of it, we just left it there on the deck.. A few weeks ago the plant started to get blossoms on it.. During the time that happening, we found out what the plant was… Guess what it is a Sun flower.. So, the mystery of the unknown plant has been solved.. My day has been a slow one with not too much to do.. I played that nerve bending game. I won a couple times but now I am stuck in the same place.. Crap!!! I’ve almost been near the point of deleting it off my device.. But that would make me feel like a quitter.. No way will I let this game beat me.. ‘I will fight to the end!’ ‘I don’t know if my nerves can last that long.’ So, if you see me wondering around the streets in a daze, you will know the game won.. Till later.. Take care of those you love, and never take a wooden nickel… 🙂 🙂

I would like to thank all those who read my banter each day.. 🙂 🙂  The photos in my banter have been taken by myself.. Hope you enjoy them.. 🙂 🙂

Great times…

This is my banter for Monday August 19th..

Hello everyone:: How the heck is everyone on this Monday in August.. I would almost bet that all of you had a great time with your families and friends.. The rain fell here a bit on Saturday, and later Friday evening. The grass sure loved the rain, as it seems to have grow since then. The plants are tall and bright colors, and fill our backyard with beauty.. The squirrels are raiding the bird feeder, as they always do. The chipmunk has come out of his hiding to grab a bite to eat.. A noisy Red Cardinal stopped by to pick berries from a tree next door. They are such a beautiful bird, and I would imagine soon I will see mom with their little babies on the back fence.. I see them there quite often, as mom shows them the place to get food.. The babies make their way along the fence like a tight rope walker.. Every once in awhile they loose their balance and stagger to one side of the top board of the fence.. I love sitting and watching them grow stronger, and get their colors.. That is one of the things I wait for each year and they have returned each year and raise a new brood of babies. Same with the Blue Jay, and many other birds..

DSCN1577.JPG        A blend of blue and yellow is bound to brighten up any spot….

This weekend brought the Finches into the backyard.. They are so tiny and beautiful.. With their bright yellow and black plumage.. They flit through the air as if they had hitched a ride on the tail of the wind.. We are all so fortunate to behold such beauty around us.. It’s almost, as if you blink you will miss something extra special.. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.. I love to watch the animals with my camera by my side. I try to capture those special moments forever as proof to my memory.. For, in the winter I can gaze back on the beauty in pictures.. Friday night, I made potato salad, and deviled eggs for the dinner on Saturday.. This way I was not burdened by the preparation of those items.. Friday was a nice day to spend sitting on the porch, and watching the world go by.. We had been talking about renting a camper and going camping for a week.. I began going through the internet trying to find a place not too far away.. I found one and it is with-in the one hundred miles I reserved for travel.. The place is quaint, and family oriented.. We drove there on Friday afternoon and booked a few days stay.. Now all we have to do is wait for the time to come around.. Personally, I can’t wait.. :0 :0

DSCN1584.JPG        Inviting falls to cool off in, or just to sit and be in love…

Saturday came early as there was still a lot to do before company came.. The steaks had to come out of the freezer, and the chicken was in the fridge, ready to go on the barbeque.. I drank my tea, and while I did that my daughter called and asked I they could come to the house earlier then mentioned.. ‘Of course I said yes.’ Their time of arrival was to be an hour and a half.. I jumped to my feet and made my way up stairs to get dressed for the day.. Vacuuming was the first thing on my list. Finished that, and got help with the bathrooms.. The dog needed to be washed, and I tried my best to get my hubby to take her to the spa.. The pet store near us has a spa area. There you can wash your dog, and they supply shampoos, conditioners, and good smelling sense for your dog..  They also give you towels, doog hair blowers, and it all costs only ten dollars.. A very good deal and easier on the back then, the bath tub.. He was reluctant to go, but after he was there he realized how much easier the work was using the spa.. I filled my time with the cleaning I still had to do.. The dog smelled fantastic and we were ready for company..

buzzy beeOne of life’s wonders, and a big part of pollination..

Turns out the hour and a half turned into about three hours.. My daughter and Shawn were riding a motor cycle, and ran into very wet weather.. They needed to stop at a Walmart and purchase new clothing and whatever they could find in the line of weather protection.. My daughter still had wet socks, and one wet boot when yhey arrived.. Shawn had a wet tee shirt, and a soaking wet helmet on the inside.. It wasn’t a good ride for them, as it was pretty chilly.  At least they arrived here safe and sound.. We talked and they relaxed in the warmth of the inside.. If anyone has been caught in the rain on a motor cycle, you will understand how uncomfortable and dangerous it is on the roads.. It was getting time to put the chicken into the barbeque. The time went by quite fast, as we neared the time for the other guests to show up. Once the rest of the guests arrived it was time to start cooking the steaks.. While I was doing the cooking, a cloud opened up and got me a bit wet. But, not enough for me to quit cooking the steaks. We set the table and everyone got a seat, and dinner was served.. I got a good review for the steaks, and how perfectly they had been cooked.. That made me feel pretty good, as I milling around making sure everyone was doing fine.. The baby was being a bit cranky, and he was hungry too. Mom gave him his bottle and he fell fast asleep.. After desert everyone talked and joked about pretty much everything.. You know, I love seeing my children, and am very proud of  the fantastic people they are today..

I just love it when a good day, and good company gather in a place of love and happiness.. I love all of you, and am proud to have you as my children..  🙂 🙂

I would like to take this time to thank all my readers, for being here to read my banter.. 🙂 🙂  Seems like I took the photos in this banter, as I have a few times.. Enjoy.. 🙂 🙂

This is my banter for Friday August 16th…

Hello everyone:: How has Your Thursday been? Mine has been productive, and somewhat busy.. I hope yours was about the same as mine was for me.. My day started off quite early as I could not sleep all that well last night.. If I was lucky to get six or seven, that would have been better than what I actually got.. A whole three or four hours, and I can’t believe I haven’t fallen down yet.. I would imagine by eleven I will be crawling up the stairs to bed.. And I will be crawling, not because of the spirits people drink, but because I will not have enough energy to walk up-rite.. I was going to catch a nap earlier, but for some reason I couldn’t find the time.. Just, plain old busy.. On Saturday morning the only thing I will have left to do is vacuum, and wash the floors. Oh, and clean the toilets…My favorite job.. ‘I hope you don’t believe that’.. It’s far from my favorite thing to do.. ‘Way far’… Friday will be a bit on the busy side as well… I have things to prepare for eating.. Speaking of food.. We had pancakes and sausages for dinner.. I got the idea when I was in the basement putting the laundry in the dryer.. I looked up and there staring at me from the pantry cupboard was a bag of pancake mix.. I wonder how many times that would ever happen to anyone, just by looking at somethings.. The pancakes I make are similar to crepes except they are thicker.. As light as ever, with lots of bubble holes.. They sure were good, and my stomach was so sore after I ate just one and a bit.. That was dinner done for another day… ‘Boo Ya’…

DSCN1534.JPG           Pretty in purple.. With a little blue thrown into the mix…

First thing in the morning I went with the hubby to an appointment he had.. That was at 8:30 a.m… Then off to breakfast at the Sunset Grill.. Scrambled eggs, and ham that didn’t excite the palate too much.. Actually, the whole meal was a little on the bland side.. ‘Shoot, I know what I didn’t think of asking for was Frank’s hot sauce’… ‘That stuff will put a zing into anything you eat’.. Once I arrived back home, the darn barbeque had not cleaned itself yet.. ‘Poo, now I have to clean the darn thing’.. I changed into grubby clothes, got a hot bucket of water, some Windex, paper towel, a glass scrapper, and a clean cloth… ‘The cloth would likely never see the light of day again… I advanced on the covered mound of metal in the corner of the deck.. Was there something in there, that would make me regret my choice?? I removed the cover. The dirty mound of metal stood there in front of me.. I flipped the lid open..

DSCN1544.JPG            Yellow with red.. What a striking plant…

‘Oh my God’…. A mouse was looking at me.. I stood back for a moment to give him time to retreat… He made his way down form the barbeque, and ran for cover.. I must have scared the heck out of the poor thing.. ‘I laughed at myself and told myself to buck up, and don’t be wimp’.. Removing the racks and the burner covers, made me a little dirty, but I knew this was going to be dirty job anyways.. I stood back and aimed my Windex at the barbeque as I sprayed everything on the barbeque.. I felt like I was the exterminator… I had all the power in one hand.. I let it set for a couple minutes… With the glass scrapper in my hand, I rolled cooked on grease off the sides, like it was putty.. It was disgusting, and really gross.. My hands were greasy and nasty.. ‘Water would take the oil off,’ I said to myself’.. ‘Guess what it didn’t’.. I kept scrapping as grease and other cooked bits of food fell to the bottom tray.. After about an hour, I had done it.. ‘It was clean!!!’ I put it all back together and covered the huge mound of metal in the corner of the deck.. I was greasy, and looked like had been working under the car, changing the oil.. I cleaned myself with dish soap, and the grease went down the drain…

DSCN1537.JPG             All I have to say is beautiful…

The sun was a little on the warm side and the plants all needed water.. I got the hose attached it to the sprinkler.. Turned on the water, and immediately got wet.. ‘Wow, that feels cold’.. As I ran from the reach of the sprinkler, I felt cold water on my back… I was wet, but I still had to get the water to fall in the right places.. ‘Crap’.. The sprinkler and the trees had ganged up together, and made me even wetter.. I looked like a drowned rat… ‘This look is so fashionable’.. Finally I got the sprinkler in the right spot and went into the house to wipe off… Once the watering was done, I cleaned up, and went inside to rest.. While I was playing my favorite game, I glanced out the patio door to see it was raining.. ‘Are you kidding me’?? After all that the rain watered the grass too.. ‘Oh well’.. The plants will have plenty of water now… I had some laundry to do, and went down the stairs to the washer.. I loaded it up and hit the buttons.. On my way up the stairs, I thought, put pop in the fridge.. I was going to take the half full box, and when I picked up the end furthest away from me was open.. I stood in disbelief  as I watched seven cans of pop dance down the stairs.. ‘Great’.. You know, I was lucky. None of the pop cans opened. But, the cans were not the same shape anymore… There is always a bright side to everything… 🙂 🙂

Well, I need to run… You take care of those you love and have a great Friday and weekend.. See you next week.. Till later.. Always tie your laces… :0 :0

I would like to thank all my readers for coming to read my stories.. 🙂 🙂  As usual the photos in this banter are taken by yours truly:: Maggie… 🙂 🙂

Relaxing…

DSCN1470.JPG          I love the textures, and colors….

www.marionbell.com/relaxing

This is my banter for Wednesday August 14th..

Hello everyone:: Today has pretty much been a day of relaxing.. Doing the little things I enjoy, and catching up on whatever I have let lag behind.. I have plenty of art pieces that someday I am going to finish off. I have one piece of art that I started on in 2002.. I found the sketch I had done, and figured it was time to bring it to life with pastels. This is my first time for oil pastels. I actually enjoyed doing the color transformation. Once that was done my hubby cut pieces of base board wood and I created a picture frame. Because the sketch has the red mountains in it, I took crushed pieces of colored stone, and attached them around on the frame.. I wanted to bring the earthy feel into the frame.. I think it turned out not too bad.. I like it..

IMG_E5197              And so… This is what I came up with.. Finished…

I never seem to do the ordinary.. I always come up with what my mind sees. As you can tell by my photographs, I see what others do not see.. I have a painting I did around the same time as I did the sketch you see here.. I did it in acrylic paints, which are easier to use.. At least that is what I think..

IMG_E5199.JPG          This is the acrylic I had done back in 2002…

This is my hubbies favorite painting… I do other forms of creating.. When I’m relaxing I create my best… All are one of a kinds, and none two are the same.. I enjoy taking photos, creating sculptures, painting, I even created a few Halloween creatures.. There are no limits to what I can achieve.. Today was very hot again. The sun was a little too much for a few plants. First thing I needed to give the droopy plants a drink of water.. It amazes me how plants can bounce back once water has been added… We have a lot of water plants that need constant water to live.. There is no neglecting them, as they will be dead in to time.. I also took a few plants and pruned them and took out all the dead flowers, and old branches.  They look one hundred percent better now.. It’s hard to keep them healthy at least during this time of the year..

DSCN1458.JPG                  Now, this looks like a pretty nice place to relax….

I did not stress over dinner today. Fries, and sausage on a bun was easy and tasted good too.. Simple eats can fill the tummy just like a full course meal.. Sometimes cooking becomes a chore that I would prefer not do some days.. I get all stressed out thinking about what to make.. Don’t miss understand me, I love cooking, but day after day is so hum drum. I feel like a robot that just repeats what has  been done a million times.. This Saturday I will be cooking for our family barbeque.. Now that I am looking forward to, and my menu has been set in stone.. I love to see people enjoy the food I create.. It will be fun to have most of the family together at the table..

DSCN1451.JPG            A nice bike ride through the camp ground…

As the day drifted away, the air became cool and bearable. So cool that sitting out on the deck was quite relaxing.. Once the sun has slipped behind the trees. The sun casts long shadow across the yard. I like that time of the day. It’s so calming. Sitting on the deck watching all kinds of people walking by. Dogs on leashes, and children complaining while asking. ‘How much further?’ You would almost they are going to die, by the performance they give their parents.. I see a lot of ladies walking and talking loudly on their cell phones. I would think, loud talking would be somewhat of a security blanket.. Away to deter those who prey on ladies who are alone in the dark.. You can hear them approach, then disappear into the darkness. I love the little children who play with no re-guard for others.. They run like lightening, and say hi to everyone.. Oh to be a child again.. I often wonder how many people would change the life, as they have it right now. And want to get a chance for a new course and direction.. This way your future would not be as it is.. Oh to be young again.. My body would not hurt anymore..

I must be on my way.. I hope to see all of you on Wednesday, as it is a new start for all of us.. Till later.. Stand tall and don’t take any unnecessary crap.. 🙂 🙂

I would like to thank all the readers who take the time out of their busy day to read my banter.. 🙂 🙂 As usual all the photos, and works of art are done by ME:: Maggie.. 🙂 🙂

Visiting camp..

DSCN1457.JPG   Walking around the camp ground.. This caught my eye..

www.marionbell.com/visiting-camp

This is my banter for Monday August 12th..

This weekend we went to visit the camp site of my son and his beautiful wife.. The day was a little on the chilly side, and I actually had to wear a sweater. Wow, what a change from at home.. It was really good to get away. The site was right next to the road in the camp. There was just enough room for them to park their trailer. The space between two trees and the extended awning was six inches. A tight squeeze for sure. And the awning had to be put in when they wanted to use the fire pit. The next time they camp at this KOA, they know which place to ask for by number. The place is set up really well, with trails to walk on, pools to swim in, horse shoe pits, and a large barn where the young and old can go to watch movies. There are a lot more things and adventures to be had by the many campers who stay there all season, or just drop in for a couple days. I would camp there myself, after all the place is well kept… The people seemed nice and friendly as they drive by in their golf carts. There were a lot of golf carts being used. Even a couple for the clean up crew for the camp Those golf carts had rakes, shovels, brooms, and anything else needed to clean up any mess they found. And this camp did recycling. That’s the first time I have seen that.. KOA camps are famous for the environment, and making sure the forested areas are not ruined.

DSCN1409.JPG        A friendly game of horse shoes was had by the fellas…

Little children rode by on their tricycles, and bicycles. Moms and dads walking behind or riding with the children. Our area had a round about, and the active little ones kept riding past us. A mom had stopped to ask if we had seen the little ones riding by. We gave her the direction they were headed in, and off  she went to catch up to them. The next time we saw the little ones they were on scooters their size. They definitely were not going as fast. I guess maybe mom could keep up to them a lot better that way.. There was one little cute gal that tipped her scooter upside down and was pulling it behind her. She actually had the bunch of us giggling as she went by.. She was so cute and smart.. Like I said the place had a safe feel to it, and was very family oriented. The kind of place where the permanent campers watch out for the children. This way everyone knows the children  are safe…

DSCN1423.JPG        Another interesting area that caught my eye….

We sat talking, laughing, and watching Parker as he made the cutest baby faces.. He really has become a camping baby. He loves being outside, as long as he has a place to kick his feet. Once, he had started to get fussy and I put my tablet on a hook on the stroller, and he laid back watching the movie I had put on for him. I have great photos of him kicking his little feet and touching the tablet with his toes.. I even captured great photos of papa and Parker together.. My grand-daughter and her friend rode their bike all over the place in the camp. They even watched a scary movie in the big barn with other people.. We went for a stroll, and I was not paying too much attention to the people, and more attention to the trees and rocks that hid within the trees.. Everyone was wondering what I saw in the trees. But, I knew what I was looking at, as I click my camera, and captured beautiful photos… I have always been able to find images, and interesting parts nature has hidden away from site.. Over this week I will share some of those photos with all of you..

DSCN1459.JPG      There are many hidden treasures. All you have to do is see them..

We had such a wonderful time, and will be doing the trek to camp on the long weekend in September.. It will only be a visit, but I’m very certain the visit will be fun.. Last time I was at this camp ground was when, I used to bring my children there and they always had fun there.. Till then I will be patiently waiting for that weekend to arrive.. This time maybe we will even stay for the camp fire, and sit staring at the ambers dance and float up towards the stars.. There’s no better way to enjoy a fire, except for roasting marsh mellows over the fire, on the end of a stick.. I find the food tastes better when you are camping.. Maybe it’s all that fresh air you breath in while you are there..

Thank you for joining me, and reading my banter… Till tomorrow… Be safe.. 🙂 🙂

I would like to thank all the great readers I have. I appreciate your coming to visit.. Once again all the photos in this banter are taken by me.. Maggie… 🙂 🙂

Skunks…

DSC_0244.JPG            Looking for sweet nectar….

www.marionbell.com/skunks

Hello everyone… The evening is beautiful here. The day was quite warm with a rain shower early this morning. All in all, not a bad day. I hope your Tuesday was as pleasant as the one I enjoyed. I wish everyone that is under the weather, or sick a speedy recovery. When I was sick, I received some recovery messages from some very wonderful readers. I appreciate your kindness, and your wishes. Thank You! With the rain falling today, I had hoped my rotten head aches would have vanished. But, they tend to hang on like a stocker. They are relentless… GRRRRR.. And if that does not seem like enough, I have hurt my left hip. Which gives me plenty of opportunity to yell out.. ‘OUCH!’ more than usual. I seem to be falling to pieces, and there isn’t a darn thing I can do about it. Age kind of does that to all of us..

DSC_0233.JPG        Colorful flowers bring a smile to our faces…

Today, my banter with everyone is about ‘the Skunk’. That smelly little black and white creature, that comes out at night and stinks up the whole place. They have a way of making your dogs wish they had never seen them. But the dog, as protective as they are, just never see the skunk as danger. I caught one in our yard with my flash light last week. Our silly little dog, being the protector she is, ran right over to the place where the skunk had just gone through the wooden fence. Thank god, there was a Hosta between the dog and the skunk. The dog only received a very small faint bit of spray on her neck. I wondered why I could smell skunk so close to me when she came in the house. There she was trying to remove the smell from her neck. She wiggled and rubbed against the cover, but the smell did not come off. She was just a little stinky, but not enough to banish her from the house. I’m hoping she has not forgotten the insident. But, I highly doubt that she has. Heck, you can say the word ‘Squirrel!’ to her and she’s on the run, chasing the squirrels away from the bird feeder. Our other little dog goes running beside the other dog, and they try to eat each other. They are like two little kids fighting over the number one spot. They don’t bite each other they make it sound like a fight. Crazy critters…

DSC_0229.JPG             Beautiful color……

We have a house across the road, kiddy corner to us. This house has a full family of skunks living under their front deck. Now we know where the skunks are coming from. Our yard is like a fortress. There are stones, boards, sticks, and old plant clippings protecting us from the skunks. I put bleach on the wood, in the hopes this will keep them out. My rabbit does not come around anymore, even the chipmunk keeps his distance. It’s time to eliminate the skunk invasion. I’ve had enough of the smell… So, I hit the internet for some good advice… The nine step elimination prosses seemed pretty straight forward. I was armed and ready to fight.. First off.. Get rid of any fruits, nuts, berries, and any food that would attract them. Check, and double check.. Oops! The bird seed on the ground. Crap, I quickly covered it with a large board, and a couple heavy rocks. Next, protect your garbage cans with a paddle lock. Garbage is in the garage, even better. I was pumped.. Next, get rid of any fresh lawn clippings, as the seeds in the clipping attract the skunk. Check.. Haven’t mowed the lawn in a couple weeks. Trimmed bushes, and vegetation.. Done. Bright solar lights, and motion detector lights. Done. You can use a motion sensor water sprinkler that goes off if they come near. Set near where they go. No lumber or wood piles around. Good.

DSC_0394.JPG         Pretty Daisies….

Onto the next step, get fox and dog urine. What? I’m not chasing my dog around the yard with a small bowl to collect the pee. Are you kidding me??? You can buy the urine from a hardware store, and also pepper spray.. It would be my luck, that if I put my finger on the trigger, the wind would start to blow hard, and I would have a face full of pepper spray.. Next, citrus peels.. Well, I never thought that one would work. You can use orange, or lemon peels spread around the yard. Next, traps.. put a 30L garbage can open end up, against a secure surface so it won’t tip over. Get a 2X4 to use as a ramp for the skunk to get to the cat food you have already put in the can. The skunk will jump in the can for the food, and it can’t climb back out. Thank god for that.. In the morning put the lid on the can, put in truck bed, and take it for a drive. Carry the can out to a clearing near a forest.. Tie a twenty foot rope to the lid, get back and pull the lid off. They say the skunk will just wonder away.. ‘Ya right!’ I wonder how many times this has failed? Or you could call pest control.. Let them do the work.. Next and final step, that makes the most sense to me. Soak old rags in ammonia, and through them under the deck, or near any other opening. Skunks do not like ammonia.. Really, I don’t either..

Well, these are just a few ways to send the skunks running.. I’m getting ammonia tomorrow, and I will try it.. Till latter.. Don’t pet skunks..

I would like to thank you wonderful readers for reading my endless banter, you are wonderful.. 🙂 🙂  As usual the pictures in this banter are taken by myself.. Maggie.. Enjoy…. 🙂 🙂

Long weekend..

DSCN1258.JPG            In my garden grows…..

www.marionbell.com/long-weekend

Hello everyone.. I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. The weather here was very hot during the day and cooler in the evenings. Nights like this always make sleeping a little more enjoyable. In my little corner of the universe, we had a gathering of artisans selling their wares. A Festival, that falls on the first long weekend of August. The walkway along the lake, was packed with people, everyday during the long weekend. There are lots of artists that flock to this area, just for the chance to explore the works of others. Or, to have their talents recognized by other artists. There were countless people looking for just that one item that would add a special touch to their surroundings. For those on the hunt for food, there was plenty to eat, beer to drink, and even a few ice-cream venders. I think they used to be called them the Dickie-Dee. These were carts that stood stable in one area. Heck, you could even find the right size of hot tub, or Infinity pool to install in your back yard. You could even put it in your house, for year round fun and exercise. That sounds like a very good deal.. Just think, splashing around in a nice warm pool, while you watch the snow fall outside. ‘What a way to live…’  You could add a new barbeque to the list of summer items you desire. One with three cooking grills, or one that could be used as an entire part of an outdoors kitchen design. The uses and designs are endless…

As we moved along the walking path, we can upon a carnival set up with rides for the young and the old. Carnival games that required no skill to win. Then, there are other games that take a lot of talent to win, or just a big pocket of money to buy that one stuff toy for a loved one.. Cotton candy, caramel popcorn, candied apples, hot dogs, fries, burgers, and ice-cream by the buckets. Frozen treats to cool you down, and coffee just to give you that little kick you needed to continue on your way. The screams of excited children, as the rides tossed them from side to side, and up and down. The sounds of the carnival ringing in your ears, as music played loudly. So loud that it made me think that there was a contest going on for the loudest noise…. Parents taking pictures of children franticly waving from a ride that will likely scar them to death. Parent patiently standing still, watching, and waiting till the ride stops. The endless trek to the next ride, then wait all over again… ‘Oh, the fun of the carnival.’ The memories playing in your head of your youth, and how you want to run away with the carnival.. The time you barfed on Peggy-Sue, and how mad she was that day on the whirl-around.. What away to find out spinning was not your thing.

DSCN1265.JPG      Fading with time, while new blooms wait to appear…..

The lake filled with parents and children of all ages.. The shade of the trees, where lovers sit and play with their cell phones. ‘Oh, where did love go.’ Picnics on the grass by the lake. The smell of hot dogs, fried chicken, or maybe even take out.. The life guard perched high on a chair, above those seeking the cool of the water.. Little children running away from the small waves the lap upon the shore. Standing still in the water, watching the little fish nibble at your toes… The fun and beauty of a summers day by the lake. Softer music can be heard from the voice of a song bird, as she sings her tune to the people watching in the crowd. Groups on the stage, belting out the tunes, as people dance to the beat. The sounds of a summer festival.. We are now in August, and summer is slipping slowly away. The stores are stocked with back-to-school items. No more summer clothing can be found, as the clothes have been carefully packed away. The sounds of parents and unhappy children shopping in the stores. Parents on edge, as young Johnny decides to run away from them. There he is playing in the toy section of the store. Soon winter clothes, boots and coats will fill the hangers, where summer clothing once hung. Stop rushing the winter retailers. It’s too darn depressing to even think of, at least for me.

To all those, that go to any-kind of festival, carnival, picnic by the lake, or family outing. I wish you all fun and safe journeys.. See you later…. 🙂 🙂

I wish to thank all of my followers, readers, or visitor for being so patient this last week while I was off.. Thank you… 🙂 🙂 As usual the photos in this banter have been taken by myself.. Maggie.. Hope you enjoy.. 🙂 🙂

This past week was rough at times, and still the head aches leave me unable to function. But, I press on and try to not let them stop me. If the weather is to blame, I wish it would stop bothering me. I do feel better than before, but not quite totally healthy. I choose not to go to the doctor as they tend to be quacks, who have no idea what they are doing. I have learned techniques to put my pain at bay. It helps the bad pain disappear. The lingering pain is a pain in the butt, but I will settle for that…. Till later… I wish you all well.. And be safe out there…:) 🙂
