Mending…

DSCN2721.JPG           Still blooming…

www.marionbell.com/mending

This is Tuesday in a nut shell for Wednesday October 30th…

I sit here writing about my day as it is.. I am feeling less sick to my stomach, but still am challenged with the energy problem.. Got no giddy up and go yet.. I now have a sore throat, and a bit of a cough and, with that comes the run away drip of the sinuses.. Is this the sign of getting better, or is this just the beginning of something worse? I ate today and that’s a positive sign of recovery.. I like the sounds of that.. The drippy nose is such a bother.. I’m almost ready to pack my nose with Kleenex to keep it from dripping.. Oh, what a glamorous gal I would be sporting nose plugs.. Can you imagine?? I know I will get better.. But time is the problem.. I did not have a nap today, and my eyes are feeling heavy.. Guess early bedtime will be my norm for this evening, as it was the last night.. I want to send out healing vibes to anyone who needs them.. I wish you a speedy recovery.. 🙂 Get better soon Wendy.. 🙂

DSCN2713.JPG        All my plants are still blooming…

I chance to say that the plants in the garden are not ready to give up yet.. I just hope the snowy rain we are to have this weekend, does not kill them off on me.. ;(  If I remember correctly the snow and cold came early last November.. I’m wishing the cold weather away till Christmas day.. I wonder if I will get my wish.. I believe in thinking hard enough and it will happen.. Doesn’t always work, but it gives me a reason to hope.. Miracles do happen if you believe..

DSCN2725.JPG     The beauty in the color red…

Halloween is only a day away as of Wednesday.. The children will be out there crossing streets, and darting out between parked cars.. Watch out for them, and keep your eyes open and your speed down.. Let’s all work together to keep them safe.. We went to a Haunted House last weekend, and the turn out was not too bad.. The people who have the Haunted House have been adding on different things, so I can’t wait to see it now.. I just hope I am up to the visit.. In this part of my world there are quite a few Haunted Houses, and Haunted Hotels.. It’s fun for the kids and adults too.. I know I sure like them.. I don’t take much to someone grabbing me from behind… I don’t know if I would react kindly.. No matter what happens I will gage myself accordingly.. I want to say to all those going out there.. Be careful, carry a light of some kind to light your path, and don’t eat your candy till mom or dad has a chance to pick out the ones they like.. 🙂 OOPS!! Mom and dad check to see if it is safe to eat.. BOOOO!

DSCN2719.JPG         One flower against all the fallen leaves..

Well, I am about tuckered out here.. I will see everyone when I post again for Thursday October 31st.. Halloween Night.. Till then… I wish you all good fortune, and happiness.. 🙂 :0 :O

I stood tall…

DSCN2328.JPGA tree among many others…

www.marionbell.com/i-stood-tall

This is my blurb for Thursday October 24th….

I once stood tall with many of my friends in the forest.. I was the tallest tree in the part of the forest I lived in.. I could see far and wide.. I would talk with the smaller trees and let them know what I had seen that day.. I was the senior to all those trees that reached to touch the sky.. I was the first to see the storm as it rolled our way.. I would warn all others to hold on tight to the ground.. The smaller trees would wrap their leaves around my trunk.. My roots have been deep in the ground for many years and were strong.. I am the king of this forest.. I protect those that grow here.. The storms that have tugged my branches are many and those that have taken some of my limbs.. Year after year, the weather has been cruel and unkind to some of my forest friends.. The remnants of their once strong branches, lay on the forest floor.. It takes strength to survive the torcher of the winds.. My friend now rests up against the closest tree to where he grew..

DSCN2457 (2).JPGLeaning on each other..

I have shed many gallons of sappy tears for all those that have gone before me.. I move my leaves to give the saplings below the sun they need to grow.. My bark has been picked away by bugs and beetles.. Elmwood disease has claimed many trees.. Now the Asian Beetle is taking a big bite out of our forest and urban area trees.. We are fading away… Do humans know just how important we really are to them?? We clean the air they breath each day.. We make shade for human’s to ling under.. Benches are placed at the bottom of our trunks.. People often come to sit and talk with other human friends.. When the rain falls the humans find shelter under my leaves.. I have been struck by lightening.. The sun has bleached my bare branches white.. The winters, and summers have worn me down.. I am old…

DSCN2571 (2).JPGSitting in the shelter of my branches..

My bark has long since dropped from my trunk, my branches have fallen to the ground… I am no longer the king of this place.. My branches lay on the ground in a pile of decaying wood.. There will be many trees to follow me and take my place.. They will be the kings of this ravished forest, where once I was the king..

DSCN2583 (2).JPGI have returned to where I began…

Our world is a much better place thanks to the trees we plant each year… And the ones that grow in the cover of the kings are our future… 🙂 🙂 I wish everyone love and prosperity… Be kind to each other, and strive to be all you can be.. Till Tuesday… Have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend.. Smile often 🙂 🙂 🙂

Day dreaming…

DSCN2555 (2).JPGThere is nothing like a walk in the woods…

www.marionbell.com/day-dreaming

This is my blurb for Wednesday October 23rd…

There is nothing better than taking a quiet walk through the forest on a beautiful day.. It’s almost a calming experience.. You can hear the birds in the trees singing sweetly.. They watch as you pass by.. The sounds of the drying leaves under your feet crunching as your feet touch them.. The crack of a branch being broken.. The fear of what maybe watching you or even stalking you has your eyes scanning the trees and the forest floor.. Are they there? You will never know as they are experts at the skill of hiding.. The sound of a chipmunk as he signals your arrival to his friends.. If you keep your eyes on the forest floor you may even encounter one as he speeds by.. A fluffy bunny must have been startled by your load foot stepping sound.. Run, away Bunny… They don’t even look back till they are in their safe place..

DSCN2552 (2).JPGYour stalker maybe closer than you think…

Little nooks and crannies to hide in.. Look closely to if there is anything there.. The breeze blows lightly down the path you have chosen to walk.. A spark of sun light warms the chill of the shadows… The echo of voices on the wind.. You turn to see, and there is a large brown dog is heading right your way.. There are  people with smiles wide, that say their ‘hellos’ then walk ahead of you.. I can almost smell the musty odor of the forest floor, and the thriving moss on the fallen trees..

DSCN2554 (2).JPGFallen, decaying trees…

The fallen trees left to rot away on the forest floor, tell tales of the sacrifice they have made to the earth, small insects, and new trees that hide within the forest floor.. The bark which once was their coat, no longer protects from the rathe of mother nature.. This tree is now home to the smallest creatures that need it’s shelter… A life cycle that has taken the trees from birth to death..

DSCN2553 (2).JPGFungus on a fallen tree…

A fungus now uses this tree as it’s growing ground.. A place to display their colors and shapes.. Their beauty is one of splendor to those that stop to take a look.. Everything has a place and a time to grow.. In my mind I walk on towards the smell of water.. The smell of the fish that live in the water and wait for the next fishing trip to be taken.. I can see an opening ahead.. The blue sky and the sun light squint my eyes half way closed.. I feel a gust of warm breeze, as I move away from the darkness of the forest… The breeze flaps my undone jacket, and tousles the hair on your head away from your face..

DSCN2568 (2).JPGThe water at the shore of the lake..

The water along the shore reveals the content that lies beneath.. The sun lights the rippling water as it slowly moves with the waves.. Red and white stones, fallen branches submerged in their watery grave.. Silt and sand lightly cover them.. The water is cold to the touch.. Your mind stops you from merging further into the dangerous water.. As your eyes look further across the lake you see blue water and trees of different colors.. I’m in paradise, as I stand gazing at the beauty of this place..

DSCN2569 (2).JPGA fallen tree…

A tree has fallen into the cold chill of the lake.. The sun will bleach it white, and the wind will whistle through it’s branches.. This tree will decay in time, and become one with the water it lies in now.. Nature has away of returning that which came from the ground, and in the end will return to the ground.. 🙂  Be safe and take care of yourselves.. Till later.. I wish you all good fortune, and happiness… 🙂 🙂

Drizzle…

DSCN2116.JPG         Down by the water on a beautiful day…

www.marionbell.com/drizzle

This is my banter for Tuesday September 24th…

Howdy:: How has everyone been doing?? I hope Monday passed by like a lightening strike… I also hope your family members are all well, and safe.. My day started off not too badly.. When I let the pups out in the morning there was puddles of water everywhere.. I tip toe through the puddle to the gate that keeps critters off the porch.. It was not hot and muggy which made a pleasant day for having all the windows open to air out the house.. The breeze was some what on the shiver kind of cool.. But that didn’t bother me, as it was a pleasant surprise.. We did have one good down pour later in the afternoon, and a bought of drizzle that hung around for a measure of time.. I did notice that the plants were perkier than the last while.. The rain had worked it’s magic on the plants over night, and later in the day.. I don’t have to water them for at least two days.. I like that, as I tend to get muddy and wet during the watering process.. I did some chores around the house, and vacuumed the rugs.. Looks a bit more tidier now in the living room.. It won’t take long for the fuzzy dogs to mess things up again.. These dogs are my children and can make messes.. The youngest one likes all her toys put out of her basket all over the rug, so she can choose what she wants.. She’s my little deva.. All Doo has to do is walk and the hair falls from her coat.. She’s a shedder… And the middle one just likes to be comfortable in her blankets..

DSCN2120.JPG     This fella came to visit and stayed, while I took his picture…

During the past couple days I have been working on all my Halloween props getting them ready to sell on line.. I have a few pieces that I created from scratch, and others that I have picked up along the way.. At mine and the hubbies age our warranties have expired, and a lot of our parts are starting to break down.. Don’t you just hate when that happens.. We don’t spend a lot of time in the cold, as we seize up.. I used to love being outside waiting for the little ones… I would even dress up and be a kid again for the night.. Now, I will just keep warm inside.. 🙁 As I said I am working on getting them all ready for sale.. I don’t really know what to charge, but I will figure it out.. I got a little time left yet.. I have never stored my props outside… They have always been in the garage or the basement.. Most people that see the room I kept them in, call it the room with the dead people.. I just chuckle when they say that.. Once in an inspection I failed to warn the people of the room.. They weren’t too happy.. I think it scared them.. 🙂 🙂

DSCN2148.JPG      This beautiful flower caught my eye and here it is…

This flower was at the water front and I believe it’s strange design and color had me fascinated… I love the water front as it calms the soul, and sooths the stress away.. Who could not enjoy a place so peaceful.. Today, the Blue Jay returned to the bird feeder, and started to squawk… God he is a very noisy bird when he wants to be.. I could see him standing on the bird feeder looking straight at the door.. He wanted to be fed.. What is it with some of these birds?? Like I’m supposed to jump to my feet and fill the bird feed.. And now!! After I wasn’t there right away, he noticed the food that was left in the feeder.. I haven’t seen much of the Cardinal lately.. I wonder where they are these days.. The rabbit hasn’t been around much since the skunk got here.. The stinky thing has driven away quite a few critters.. The skunks had been trapped and where waiting for a pick up by the city.. The city was going to relocate them in the wild.. Some woman felt sorry for them and let them loose the day the city showed up.. Now we have them visiting our yards again.. What is the matter with some people???

DSCN2147.JPG   This silver goose watches over the water front.. :O

This beautiful silver bird is stunning… The artist who created this thought of every twist and turn of the metal.. When standing under the bird, you can gaze up at the twisted flowing lines.. My breathe was taken away by it’s beauty.. Well, I’m on the move.. Take care of your loved ones, and be safe out there… Till later.. Smile and see how many people return a smile back… 🙂 🙂

Thank you to all my wonderful readers… Happy to know you all.. 🙂 🙂   Photos are my game.. Enjoy them… 🙂 🙂

gran driving red lips (2).jpgMAGS…. Have a fantastic Tuesday… 🙂 🙂

It’s over…

DSCN2122.JPG        A quaint little town we passed through…

www.marionbell.com/its-over

This is my banter for Monday September 23rd…

Happy Monday everyone:: This weekend has come and gone in what seems like a streak of lightening.. I also found the heat and mugginess to be similar to the middle of summer… Our Monday is to be a repeat of the past few days.. And there is supposed to be rain mixed in with the heat.. ‘Oh boy.’ ‘I’m sure looking forward to a day like that again.’ ‘If you believe that, then I have some swamp land I could sell you.’ I detest days when your sweating so bad that your clothes are clinging to you and every time you turn your head your hair sticks across your face.. Times like that make me feel a lot growly.. And quite unpleasant.. I trust all of you had a good weekend, and your families are safe and healthy.. Did everyone have a relaxing weekend?? Did anyone go out on any adventures, or do something out of the ordinary?? I hope you did as it’s healthy to step it up, and change your usual day.. I find that it feels good to give something new a chance.. Get out there.. Go to the forest, and watch the wild life there.. Or go paddle a canoe on the lake.. Make some memories.. An old saying said; variety is the spice of life.. And it sure is.. Don’t get caught up in a rut..

DSCN2127.JPG         One duck doing his own thing..

This weekend we did something out of the usual to my surprise.. We went to the water front and sat listening to music.. The band was amazing.. They had the people tapping, and stomping their feet to the music.. It was a nice change from the everyday grind.. There was what we call a ‘Super Hero Stomp’ at the water front… I was super excited to get a few pictures of the super hero’s.. I got a couple.. To tell you the truth I was somewhat disappointed with the turn out.. I was expecting more people.. That’s what I get for expecting a grander event.. But, all in all the day was not a loss.. I took a lot of water front photographs that I need to go through yet.. In time, I’m not in a big rush.. I wanted to take a drive to a tower that lets you see the whole bay we live by.. It would have been nice, but my hips were way to sore for me to make the hike up the top.. I’m hoping next weekend I will be in less pain so I can make the climb… Even if it’s only half way up… The sight will be breath taking with the fall colors.. I can’t wait to take some beauty photos.. I have noticed that we have had a cat visitor hanging around the back yard.. That’s not a good thing.. The squirrels, birds and chipmunks are not fond of the cat.. The cat is pure black and has the most beautiful eyes… He sports a collar and a tag, so I know he has a home..

DSCN2169.JPG          The landscaping at this waterfront is beautiful..

This looks like a train done from the artist’s imagination.. It looked quite nice, and the plants do it justice.. Very pretty.. The water front had many birds, people, and even the odd chipmunk scampering around.. Boats and more boats.. Even a small cruise type boat, came into port to drop off passengers and pick up more passengers for a spin around the lake..  The line up to get on the boat was pretty long.. We would like to go on a dinner cruise one of these days.. I think it would be a fun experience.. As long as I don’t get sea sick.. I have found that I have a tendency to experience that from time to time.. If we don’t get to it this year then it will be a must for next year.. As I sit here tired and ready to end my day.. It’s Sunday night, and it’s warm in the house and outside.. I definitely can’t go outside to cool off, so going to bed soon and turning on the air in the bedroom will help me sleep.. I keep checking the peppers I am growing and they are doing so well.. At the rate they are growing I should have fresh peppers in a couple weeks.. Next year I want to plant a garden similar to how my grandma used to plant them.. Her gardens were very beautiful..

DSCN2131.JPG        A calming place to sit and watch the world go by…

I hope Monday for everyone is as pleasant as it can be.. I know Mondays are not received well by any of us.. But they keep returning each week to antagonize all of us.. So stiff upper lip, and before you know it the day will be over.. Well I am heading to a nice cozy bed.. Take care and please be safe.. Till later.. Have a reasonable Monday… 🙂 🙂

Hey readers thanks for making my day with your visits.. Thanks 🙂 🙂  Just some more of my photos.. Hope you enjoy them… :0 🙂

gran driving red lips (2).jpgMAGS.. Have a wonderful Monday… 🙂 🙂

Lovely…

DSCN2072 (2).JPG           A stream of light quickly reveals a lonely mushroom..

www.marionbell.com/lovely

This is my banter for Thursday September 19th…

Hello everyone:: I imagine your day was pretty darn good, and as I say ‘lovely’.. I hope your families are safe, happy and in good health.. My family is great and seem to be in good spirits.. You know.. I like days, like today.. The breeze was cool and moderate.. I got to get out and harvest some more seeds from the gardens.. I do this every year and use them to bring bright colors around the back yard… I also had to un-pot a few plants that had withered away and died.. They had a good run during the spring and summer.. I have several potted plants that are still blooming, and have right from the start.. I have been keeping a close eye on the peppers I planted from seeds.. They have flowered and are growing larger each day.. Soon it will be time to prune back all the taller plants in preparation of the winter.. Some of the plants in the gardens are still blooming and suppling food for the bees.. We can’t clip those yet.. Maybe with some sweet talking I can get Douglas to wait for a couple weeks before pruning.. I like the bright colors and want to enjoy them till the end..

DSCN2113.JPG       They are watching us…

It was funny to look out the window and see pair of eyes on the tree trunk.. To tell you the truth, it took me awhile to realize the eyes were there… Douglas never even seen them, until I pointed them out.. It was cool to see them keeping an eye on the campground… The silence in the park was a wonderful treat.. It sure was a change for cars revving their engines, and speeding away to something important.. There was no loud music to hear when you were trying to sleep.. All the sounds of a busy city.. I loved the change… I found it lovely.. There are many surprises out there in the world you just have to look out for them.. They’ll surprise you for sure.. Since returning from camping I have felt a calm that I find wonderful.. I know one thing the dogs were glad to be home and around familiar places.. They bark at the squirrels and the little chipmunks.. I encourage the dogs to use their inside voices.. They know what I mean as they lower their voices to a quiet woof.. But, that doesn’t last too long… And the barking starts all over again.. That’s puppy dogs for ya.. 🙂

DSCN2032.JPG        The fog covers the murky waters with a spooky mist..

This is an interesting photograph.. One that can make a person wonder what is out there in the water.. That’s what I had in mind as I watch the water creep closer to where I was standing.. Was there a creature of unthinkable size lurking in the waters.. Could it be an Anaconda slithering it’s way towards a snack that was going to be me.. I stood there watching as the fog drew closer and closer.. My heart was racing as my mind filled with despair and agony.. A frog jumped into the water behind me… I jumped and turned to see what it was.. I seen nothing.. Was my mind playing tricks on me.. There could not be something that large in this shallow water.. But, I was not taking any chances as I backed up the bank of brush and slippery mud.. I kept a close eye on the fog till I was safely inside the trailer.. I should know better than to let my mind wonder into darker places.. :0

DSCN2110.JPG          Another set of eyes making like they are not watching…

As you can see those eyes on the trees keep a look out for the campers that stay there.. The only thing that bothered me was every time I looked out to the front window of the trailer… There were those eyes.. It was as if  the eyes changed their direction each time I looked at them.. And this set of eyes is sporting a long beard.. Really.. That is actually funny.. I wonder if he gets wood chips in his beard??  Well everyone, I’m on the run… Gotta go.. Till later.. Have a great day..  🙂 🙂

I would like to thank all you wonderful people for stopping by to read my banter.. Thanks…:) 🙂  I’m going to take credit for the photographs in this banter.. As I took all of them.. Hope you enjoy.. 🙂 🙂

This is my banter for Monday August 26th…

Hello everyone::  Well, how the heck is everyone on this fine day?? I know, I know Monday is crappy and the start to another week of work, chores, meetings, and god knows what else is waiting for you.. Just think once we get to the end of this week we will be celebrating the last long weekend of the summer.. I will be celebrating my oldest daughter’s Birthday, as she was born on Labor Day September first… Yes, I was one of those lucky ladies in the hospital.. Waiting for September the first to arrive.. My daughter will be fifty this year, and I can hardly believe she is that age.. She is aging well, and does not look near her age.. I recall the doctors, and nurses tossing water balloons at each other while they waited for her… The water balloons were plastic gloves filled with water.. Hey, they had to find someway to celebrate Labor Day.. I was too frozen to be worried.. After all I was in good hands and so was my daughter.. All the fine things  you go through when your young.. I wish you all a free flowing Monday, that glides along quickly enough to make things not so stressful.. Just keep repeating.. ‘The Long weekend is coming.’

DSCN1730 (3).JPG          This bee was filling up before he went back to the hive…

Both days this weekend were filled with sun shine, and cool breezes.. Just the right kind of day to explore the water front, take a walk in a park, or just heat up that barbeque, and have some fun with friends.. I did get spend lots of time outside, and take photos that caught my eye.. I chased bees around to get good pictures of them.. I just love being a shutter bug.. I know lots of other great shutter bugs that chase down that one photo that will catch everyone’s attention.. I take so may photos of one subject.. I take different angles, and pick the best out of the bunch.. I want very much to go to a camping type park to capture whatever I see of interest.. Sitting on the deck I seen an older couple on a two person bicycle.. It looked like it was an original.. I started to take off the lens cover of  the camera, but they were gone.. I almost think I should have a camera in my hand every minute.. With my luck the camera would shut down and by the time it comes back on the moment would be gone.. ‘Darn.’ That picture of the couple would have been a beauty.. Sunday night as I let the dogs out to do their business, I could hear tree frogs singing.. That’s the most beautiful sound ever.. Add a couple crickets and you have wonderful music.. The sounds of nature.. It’s better than the smells of a skunk… The cool breeze and no sun set the stage for a beautiful night to sit outside..

DSCN1772 (2).JPG           This photo is one of my favorites…

This photo is truly beautiful.. I love the way the sun casts it light on the middle of the flowers, and seems to bleach out their true color.. The shadows on the leaves tell a story of a place to hide in cool darkness.. Even the bee can not escape the sun’s light.. I could go on for quite awhile, but I won’t.. Like I have said before, there is always that perfect photo that draws you in, and makes you pause and stare.. My dog is doing well after seeing the vet last week.. She has a fair amount of meds, and has to wear a thing around her neck for a whole week.. She is not too happy about that.. I wouldn’t be either.. I makes it hard for her to drink, and eat.. If wearing, what I call her helmet, is not bad enough.. The pills make her hungry and thirsty.. Plus, she needs to take more frequent visits outside.. I just want this week to end so she feels better.. I have to hide her meds in peanut butter or she won’t take then.. She is just like a baby and as finicky as heck.. She will whine if she wants a drink.. At least she lets me know.. It’s a tricky thing to do with her helmet on her neck.. I’d  have a hard time eating with one of those things on me too…

DSCN1771 (2).JPG            Busy little Bee…

Well, people this chickee is about to get going, and try to accomplish something today.. All of you take care of those you love, and be safe… Till later.. Never be a liar..

I would like to thank all my readers for taking the time out of your busy day to read my banter.. Thanks.. 🙂 🙂   The photos you see in this banter are taken by myself.. I hope you enjoy them.. 🙂 🙂

Impending storm…

DSCN1607 (2).JPG               From the box garden…

www.marionbell.com/impending-storm

This is my banter for Wednesday August 21st…

Hi there:: It’s really nice to see all your smiling faces out there.. How was your Tuesday?? I hope it was great, and another day gone this week.. We are on Hump Day, and there is no other way to go from here but to the weekend.. It’s funny how people use the weekend as carrot to get them through the week.. It was the only way I could get through the week when I used to work.. Then, when the weekend comes, there is not enough time to do all the things you like to do on your time off.. We all shuffle our feet, pouting, kicking and screaming all the way back to work on Monday.. I vote for four day weeks and long weekends every week.. Now a days, there is very little time for family. We hustle here and there, for this and that.. Whatever happened to just saying, to heck with it all and just kick back and relax.. We all strive too much for the all mighty dollar.. The more we have, the more we want.. That includes me as well.. Life is too short.. Tomorrow, could be our last day.. As morbid as it seems that’s how life goes.. I long for the Sunday dinner, and nothing but family time.. It’s a waste to have given that up for our desirer to be rich.. I don’t know if any body thinks or feels the same as I do.. Life is passing by way too fast.. I’m getting older, and haven’t quite come to terms with that..

DSCN1573 (2).JPG               This bee seems to have been working over-time….

Tuesday was a hot one in my part of the world.. Kind of muggy. But, curiously there was a warm yet calming breeze.. I ventured out to water the plants, and hang out with the dogs. The skies above look pretty dark at times, but there was no rain.. After dinner we watched the news and found out that our area is right on the tail of a storm.. About thirty minutes ago the rain fell in large drops, but only lasted a bit of time.. The good old weather man said the storm was going to be a big one. He gave everyone a few  signs to watch out for in the skies.. When the rain was tapping on the gazebo, the sky was greenish black, with the sun shining off in the distance.. That may have been it.. If that’s the case, that’s a bonus.. At this point there is a lot of the day to go through.. There maybe more rain.. I would be very unhappy if I woke up with the wind slapping against the bedroom window. With things flying every where.. That’s not a way to wake up.. I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that doesn’t happen.. Whatever happens I will be here snuggled in with the dogs.. Where ever you are I hope and pray that you are safe..

DSCN1597.JPG               This is Sun flower plant…

There is a story to this plant.. It started to grow in spring, in a pot on the deck after the winter.. We had no idea what it could be, nor how it got there.. I didn’t plant it, nor did my hubby.. It just appeared in the pot.. While it was growing the top of the plant was snipped off and taken by a nasty squirrel.. Not only did it take off the top, it took it with him.. We figured that was the end of the plant.. We did not get rid of it, we just left it there on the deck.. A few weeks ago the plant started to get blossoms on it.. During the time that happening, we found out what the plant was… Guess what it is a Sun flower.. So, the mystery of the unknown plant has been solved.. My day has been a slow one with not too much to do.. I played that nerve bending game. I won a couple times but now I am stuck in the same place.. Crap!!! I’ve almost been near the point of deleting it off my device.. But that would make me feel like a quitter.. No way will I let this game beat me.. ‘I will fight to the end!’ ‘I don’t know if my nerves can last that long.’ So, if you see me wondering around the streets in a daze, you will know the game won.. Till later.. Take care of those you love, and never take a wooden nickel… 🙂 🙂

I would like to thank all those who read my banter each day.. 🙂 🙂  The photos in my banter have been taken by myself.. Hope you enjoy them.. 🙂 🙂

This is my banter for Friday August 16th…

Hello everyone:: How has Your Thursday been? Mine has been productive, and somewhat busy.. I hope yours was about the same as mine was for me.. My day started off quite early as I could not sleep all that well last night.. If I was lucky to get six or seven, that would have been better than what I actually got.. A whole three or four hours, and I can’t believe I haven’t fallen down yet.. I would imagine by eleven I will be crawling up the stairs to bed.. And I will be crawling, not because of the spirits people drink, but because I will not have enough energy to walk up-rite.. I was going to catch a nap earlier, but for some reason I couldn’t find the time.. Just, plain old busy.. On Saturday morning the only thing I will have left to do is vacuum, and wash the floors. Oh, and clean the toilets…My favorite job.. ‘I hope you don’t believe that’.. It’s far from my favorite thing to do.. ‘Way far’… Friday will be a bit on the busy side as well… I have things to prepare for eating.. Speaking of food.. We had pancakes and sausages for dinner.. I got the idea when I was in the basement putting the laundry in the dryer.. I looked up and there staring at me from the pantry cupboard was a bag of pancake mix.. I wonder how many times that would ever happen to anyone, just by looking at somethings.. The pancakes I make are similar to crepes except they are thicker.. As light as ever, with lots of bubble holes.. They sure were good, and my stomach was so sore after I ate just one and a bit.. That was dinner done for another day… ‘Boo Ya’…

DSCN1534.JPG           Pretty in purple.. With a little blue thrown into the mix…

First thing in the morning I went with the hubby to an appointment he had.. That was at 8:30 a.m… Then off to breakfast at the Sunset Grill.. Scrambled eggs, and ham that didn’t excite the palate too much.. Actually, the whole meal was a little on the bland side.. ‘Shoot, I know what I didn’t think of asking for was Frank’s hot sauce’… ‘That stuff will put a zing into anything you eat’.. Once I arrived back home, the darn barbeque had not cleaned itself yet.. ‘Poo, now I have to clean the darn thing’.. I changed into grubby clothes, got a hot bucket of water, some Windex, paper towel, a glass scrapper, and a clean cloth… ‘The cloth would likely never see the light of day again… I advanced on the covered mound of metal in the corner of the deck.. Was there something in there, that would make me regret my choice?? I removed the cover. The dirty mound of metal stood there in front of me.. I flipped the lid open..

DSCN1544.JPG            Yellow with red.. What a striking plant…

‘Oh my God’…. A mouse was looking at me.. I stood back for a moment to give him time to retreat… He made his way down form the barbeque, and ran for cover.. I must have scared the heck out of the poor thing.. ‘I laughed at myself and told myself to buck up, and don’t be wimp’.. Removing the racks and the burner covers, made me a little dirty, but I knew this was going to be dirty job anyways.. I stood back and aimed my Windex at the barbeque as I sprayed everything on the barbeque.. I felt like I was the exterminator… I had all the power in one hand.. I let it set for a couple minutes… With the glass scrapper in my hand, I rolled cooked on grease off the sides, like it was putty.. It was disgusting, and really gross.. My hands were greasy and nasty.. ‘Water would take the oil off,’ I said to myself’.. ‘Guess what it didn’t’.. I kept scrapping as grease and other cooked bits of food fell to the bottom tray.. After about an hour, I had done it.. ‘It was clean!!!’ I put it all back together and covered the huge mound of metal in the corner of the deck.. I was greasy, and looked like had been working under the car, changing the oil.. I cleaned myself with dish soap, and the grease went down the drain…

DSCN1537.JPG             All I have to say is beautiful…

The sun was a little on the warm side and the plants all needed water.. I got the hose attached it to the sprinkler.. Turned on the water, and immediately got wet.. ‘Wow, that feels cold’.. As I ran from the reach of the sprinkler, I felt cold water on my back… I was wet, but I still had to get the water to fall in the right places.. ‘Crap’.. The sprinkler and the trees had ganged up together, and made me even wetter.. I looked like a drowned rat… ‘This look is so fashionable’.. Finally I got the sprinkler in the right spot and went into the house to wipe off… Once the watering was done, I cleaned up, and went inside to rest.. While I was playing my favorite game, I glanced out the patio door to see it was raining.. ‘Are you kidding me’?? After all that the rain watered the grass too.. ‘Oh well’.. The plants will have plenty of water now… I had some laundry to do, and went down the stairs to the washer.. I loaded it up and hit the buttons.. On my way up the stairs, I thought, put pop in the fridge.. I was going to take the half full box, and when I picked up the end furthest away from me was open.. I stood in disbelief  as I watched seven cans of pop dance down the stairs.. ‘Great’.. You know, I was lucky. None of the pop cans opened. But, the cans were not the same shape anymore… There is always a bright side to everything… 🙂 🙂

Well, I need to run… You take care of those you love and have a great Friday and weekend.. See you next week.. Till later.. Always tie your laces… :0 :0

Beautiful Day…

This is my banter for Thursday August 15th..

Hello everyone:: Today was one of those days when you can not help but be outside. The wind was cool, while you were in the shade.. I really hope where every you may be, that you were blessed with a day like the one I had.. Thursday is to be a carbon copy of today.. If that is how it’s going to be, I will be outside most of the day again. Our dogs are used to being in the house all cozied up in their blankets, and sleeping soundly.. Today definitely messed them up good. They sat around outside waiting for me to go in the house. Their sad little faces perched on their tiny paws, was pretty hard to take.. The sight almost broke my heart.. ‘Almost.’ They look so cute when they are trying to get you to do what they want.. It makes me chuckle.. Our dogs are very attacked to me, and every where I go, you can be sure they are not far behind.. Heck.. Sometimes they are so close that I trip over them, or god forbid step on their tiny feet.. I certainly don’t want to do that to them.. Three furry, four legged best friends.. 🙂 🙂 🙂

DSCN1492.JPG        Last night the moon shone so brightly, and this is the photo I captured..

There were a few more plants in need of some tender love and care.. I removed all the yellow, and dead branches. The one plant looked like it was near the end of it’s time.. I did my best to clean it up, then gave it a blast of plant jungle juice.. Now all I have to do is keep my fingers crossed and hope it recovers.. I have a six by six plant box that I planted in the spring. Once everything was planted I covered it with a netting to keep the squirrels, and chipmunk’s out of the garden.. Today I took that net off, and cleaned the very few weeds out, and cut the dead flowers off the stems. The ground cover plants have made the base of the garden very pretty. It’s all white and purple ground cover, and various flowering plants.. It looks better than any other year, and we’ve been here for the past four years.. We are heading into our fifth year.. I’d like to keep the garden uncovered but, the rotten squirrels won’t leave it alone. They just love burring their nuts in the soil.. “Go figure.’ ‘Crazy little vermin.’ Every year I harvest seeds from the flowers and plant them in the spring.. I always forget what they are, but it’s a nice surprise when they start to flower..

DSCN1483.JPG     This is a young cat who has found the place where the birds hang out…

Tomorrow will be, clean out the barbeque.. ‘Yahoo!’ ‘I’m really excited..’ ‘Can you tell?’  It’s a filthy job, and the grease is hard to get off your body once it gets on ya.. I just have to remember not to wipe my hand nor arm across my forehead. I’ll look like I tried to grease up my face to go hunting.. We use the barbeque a lot, even for grilled cheese and garlic bread.. The garlic bread is make from a cut up baguette. The grill seems to bring out the garlic taste. Plus the bread holds up well, and has a crunch to it.. Anything you eat with a crunch is a hit.. Friday I start to prepare the deviled eggs, and the potato salad.. This way on Saturday I won’t be running around like a chicken with my head cut off.. That would not be a pretty sight.. Have you ever seen what a chicken does once it’s head is cut off?  They dance around, and sometimes they even chase ya around.. I know some of you may not like this, but it is the truth.. As a child and through till my late teens, I lived on a farm.. Eight children and we ate chicken a fair bit..

DSCN1489.JPG          This is another capture of the moon on Tuesday night…

I loved this capture of the moon as you can see the leaves of the trees. I did not think I had caught the image but there it was, on the camera.. I’m really hoping that Saturday is going to be beautiful with no rain.. The weather man mentioned sixty percent chance of rain.. But on the weather channel I seen no rain.. Well, we will see who is right on Saturday.. Well, like usual I must run.. Take care of those you love and be kind.. Till later.. Don’t try to run with your pants down… 🙂 🙂

I would like to thank all the people that read my banter each day.. You are wonderful.. 🙂 🙂  As usual the photos in my banter are taken by your truly:: ME.. Maggie.. 🙂 🙂
