What if…3

Multiple babies born….

www.marionbell.com/what-if-3

This is my post for Thursday December 5th…

Things happen all the time, and usually are a pretty big surprise… “What if” Your wife was expecting, triplets… At the last visit to the doctors you were told that all babies where healthy and growing bigger… Okay, you are all prepared for three babies and all your families have been helping with the preparations for the births… As the days go by your wife keeps getting so big that walking is a chore for her…. The doctor says it’s all going well, and puts your wife on bed rest… It’s a week before the date of the births… The doctor books your wife into the hospital, and she is going to be induced the next morning… The nurses are all ready to take each child and take care of them… Kay your wife is brought into the operating room.. Kay will have caesarean births.. You have your armor on and you are sitting talking to your wife… The incision was made, and baby number 1 was a healthy girl… Baby 2 was a boy and baby 3 was a boy… Then the doctor keeps doing birth after birth.. The final baby was another girl.. You are blown away as the operating room becomes a flurry of nurses and doctors milling around.. You now have 7 babies… You give the family the news.. What are you going to do now?? You and Kay live with her parents, and room is what is going to be needed… What if mom and dad what to buy you a house for your new family… Would you want the house close to the relatives?? After all you will need all the help you can get… The births become a big event in your home town and all kinds of things are being given for the babies… The news paper has the big event on the front page.. Many people are ready to help when the babies come home.. Once the babies are at home, the house is filled with many people, and you and Kay can barely have time together… What would you do to have time together alone??? What if:  the family sends you away for a weekend, and Kay doesn’t want to go?? What would you do???

meteor.jpg                   A meteor hitting Earth…

What if: A scientist came on the television to tell the worlds population, that a meteor was heading straight for Earth… Also, the meteor impact is due in seven hours.. Would you try to get as far as you could away from the impact point?? Would you gather everyone you knew and take them with you?? The impact would set off a massive explosion that would be felt all around the world… The possibility of life being wiped off the surface of the planet was a definite… Would there be a safe place to go?? All Questions of what if:  There would be nothing that could be eaten, because of the explosion… Would you know where to look for water to drink?? What if: you came across a bomb shelter?? Would you move in there and hope for the best?? That would be a definite conundrum…. ‘What if’s’, can bring on just about anything, or any surprise… 🙂 🙂  Get ready for that which is out of your control…

gran driving red lips (2).jpgMAGS… Everyone have a great weekend and the days leading up to that weekend…See you all on Tuesday next week.. Be safe  🙂 🙂

Skunks…

DSC_0244.JPG            Looking for sweet nectar….

www.marionbell.com/skunks

Hello everyone… The evening is beautiful here. The day was quite warm with a rain shower early this morning. All in all, not a bad day. I hope your Tuesday was as pleasant as the one I enjoyed. I wish everyone that is under the weather, or sick a speedy recovery. When I was sick, I received some recovery messages from some very wonderful readers. I appreciate your kindness, and your wishes. Thank You! With the rain falling today, I had hoped my rotten head aches would have vanished. But, they tend to hang on like a stocker. They are relentless… GRRRRR.. And if that does not seem like enough, I have hurt my left hip. Which gives me plenty of opportunity to yell out.. ‘OUCH!’ more than usual. I seem to be falling to pieces, and there isn’t a darn thing I can do about it. Age kind of does that to all of us..

DSC_0233.JPG        Colorful flowers bring a smile to our faces…

Today, my banter with everyone is about ‘the Skunk’. That smelly little black and white creature, that comes out at night and stinks up the whole place. They have a way of making your dogs wish they had never seen them. But the dog, as protective as they are, just never see the skunk as danger. I caught one in our yard with my flash light last week. Our silly little dog, being the protector she is, ran right over to the place where the skunk had just gone through the wooden fence. Thank god, there was a Hosta between the dog and the skunk. The dog only received a very small faint bit of spray on her neck. I wondered why I could smell skunk so close to me when she came in the house. There she was trying to remove the smell from her neck. She wiggled and rubbed against the cover, but the smell did not come off. She was just a little stinky, but not enough to banish her from the house. I’m hoping she has not forgotten the insident. But, I highly doubt that she has. Heck, you can say the word ‘Squirrel!’ to her and she’s on the run, chasing the squirrels away from the bird feeder. Our other little dog goes running beside the other dog, and they try to eat each other. They are like two little kids fighting over the number one spot. They don’t bite each other they make it sound like a fight. Crazy critters…

DSC_0229.JPG             Beautiful color……

We have a house across the road, kiddy corner to us. This house has a full family of skunks living under their front deck. Now we know where the skunks are coming from. Our yard is like a fortress. There are stones, boards, sticks, and old plant clippings protecting us from the skunks. I put bleach on the wood, in the hopes this will keep them out. My rabbit does not come around anymore, even the chipmunk keeps his distance. It’s time to eliminate the skunk invasion. I’ve had enough of the smell… So, I hit the internet for some good advice… The nine step elimination prosses seemed pretty straight forward. I was armed and ready to fight.. First off.. Get rid of any fruits, nuts, berries, and any food that would attract them. Check, and double check.. Oops! The bird seed on the ground. Crap, I quickly covered it with a large board, and a couple heavy rocks. Next, protect your garbage cans with a paddle lock. Garbage is in the garage, even better. I was pumped.. Next, get rid of any fresh lawn clippings, as the seeds in the clipping attract the skunk. Check.. Haven’t mowed the lawn in a couple weeks. Trimmed bushes, and vegetation.. Done. Bright solar lights, and motion detector lights. Done. You can use a motion sensor water sprinkler that goes off if they come near. Set near where they go. No lumber or wood piles around. Good.

Onto the next step, get fox and dog urine. What? I’m not chasing my dog around the yard with a small bowl to collect the pee. Are you kidding me??? You can buy the urine from a hardware store, and also pepper spray.. It would be my luck, that if I put my finger on the trigger, the wind would start to blow hard, and I would have a face full of pepper spray.. Next, citrus peels.. Well, I never thought that one would work. You can use orange, or lemon peels spread around the yard. Next, traps.. put a 30L garbage can open end up, against a secure surface so it won’t tip over. Get a 2X4 to use as a ramp for the skunk to get to the cat food you have already put in the can. The skunk will jump in the can for the food, and it can’t climb back out. Thank god for that.. In the morning put the lid on the can, put in truck bed, and take it for a drive. Carry the can out to a clearing near a forest.. Tie a twenty foot rope to the lid, get back and pull the lid off. They say the skunk will just wonder away.. ‘Ya right!’ I wonder how many times this has failed? Or you could call pest control.. Let them do the work.. Next and final step, that makes the most sense to me. Soak old rags in ammonia, and through them under the deck, or near any other opening. Skunks do not like ammonia.. Really, I don’t either..

Well, these are just a few ways to send the skunks running.. I’m getting ammonia tomorrow, and I will try it.. Till latter.. Don’t pet skunks..

I would like to thank you wonderful readers for reading my endless banter, you are wonderful.. 🙂 🙂  As usual the pictures in this banter are taken by myself.. Maggie.. Enjoy…. 🙂 🙂

Grand-parents are by far the smartest people in the world. Their lives have gone through all the things we will go through in our lives. The stories they tell are stories of the life they have lived. If you want good advise ask your grand-parents. Listen to them because they have your best interest at heart…

To many children going to nana and papa’s place was the highlight of the day. Being at their can be the best fun ever. Things are better than at home and the ice-cream tastes better at nanna’s and papa’s place. Plus what happens at nanna and papa’s place stays at nanna and papa’s place.

Do you know what Glam Camping really means? To tell you the darn truth I have never really heard of this camping before. There is something similar where you go to a resort on vacation.

Fall ( part 5 )

The Roberts family had very busy day, building a shelter to protect them from the weather, and animals. Adam, Burt, and Donnie were fast asleep, laying on the mats they wove from vines that cover and destroy trees.

Fall ( part 3 )

Molly spent most of her day getting ready for their family outing. Molly had met her once homeless friend Foster, and had to display her ability to cope with Donna’s endless gift for gab. Their boys got the scoop on the trip, and the contest.
