This is my banter for Thursday October 3rd…

Hello everyone:: I trust all is well with everyone.. I hope your weather has been treating each one of you without body harm.. I know some of the weather conditions around the world have become volatile… You never know what conditions will be at any given time.. I really hope everyone is safe… Today was cold compared to the high temperatures of Tuesday.. The change is somewhat extreme.. I’m just hoping the weather is fair for my get away next week… And yes, I will be off from Saturday October 5th to Wednesday October 16th.. I will be putting in a post on Thursday October 17th… There is no internet where I am going… So posts will be out till I get back…

DSCN2368.JPG        This trailer’s paint job is very well suited to the interior..

This trailer did not have any make placed on it, so I am unable to give you the brand.. It did catch my eye with the white wall tires that accented the color… The interior will be shown in the next photo I post near the end of this post… You will see what I mean by the power of color…:)  As I sat writing Tuesday night, a familiar smell started to fill the Livingroom…. The smell started to make my stomach turn and feel pretty yucky.. I turned on the outside light, and pulled back the curtains… The inside door was left open and the outside door was closed… The smell had trapped it’s self behind the curtain and the space between the open door and the closed door.. As soon as I opened the curtains the smell was intense… I covered my mouth and nose with my shirt tails.. I coughed, and pinched my nose tightly.. I had a vulgar taste in my mouth from inhaling that putrid smell… I had to go outside to place a bright flash light on the railing to cover the back yard.. Skunks do not like the bright light.. I sprayed the sweet smell of baby powder between the doors and stepped out doors.. The smell was right there at the door.. It was like the skunk sat right outside the door.. I wonder if he was there for dinner?? I banged the floor with my walking stick… I looked to the left then the right.. I cautiously made my way to the railing, and scanned the yard.. There he was making his way to the hole he had come in through.. I yelled, “Get lost.” He turned to look at me as I shone the light in it’s face.. You could tell he wasn’t impressed at all.. He turned and went on his way.. I placed the flash light on the ledge, and put the gate closed..

DSCN2371.JPG          This is the inside of that beautiful trailer above..

I made my way inside, and left the curtain open a bit… One of the puppies had heard something outside and made a small woof… I looked towards the window only to notice it was pouring buckets of rain.. I jumped to my feet in a panic.. The flash light was out there in this down pour, and I did not want it to get wet inside.. I slipped on my clogs and opened the door.. Sliding on the wet outdoor carpet I was at the railing in a matter of seconds.. The rain was running down my neck, which made me shiver.. The light was still on but it was soaked.. I shook the rain off and turned to head back inside.. I could feel the wet soaking my shirt.. It was a cold rain and not a warm one.. My hair was becoming wet and drippy.. There is nothing so sexy as wet messy hair.. I looked like a model running for her life.. I slipped again, and slowed my pace.. I entered the house and shook my head to get rid of some of the  rain.. There on the couch were three puppies staring at me like I was crazy.. I removed my clogs and wiped the flash light with paper towel.. The flash light was not hurt by the pouring rain.. I must have saved it just in time… I wiped my hair with a towel and found spot on the couch with the puppies.. They didn’t seem to care that I was wet and my hair was a mess.. That’s why I love my dogs.. It don’t matter to them what I look like.. They take me just the way I am.. They love me..

The rain was still pouring down, and I was safe inside… I wonder how wet the skunk was now… Teach him for visiting our yard.. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones.. This lady is on her way.. Till later.. Stand for what you believe… 🙂 🙂

I would like to take this time to thank all my readers for visiting my site.. Thanks!! 🙂 🙂   Enjoy the photos that I have posted for you.. 🙂 🙂

Treading water…

DSCN2329.JPG         This trailer was owned by two wonderful people…

www.marionbell.com/treading-water

This is my banter for Friday September 27th…

Hello everyone:: Today I had a good day that included blood tests.. It was time to get them again.. The hubby had his test as well.. ‘Two birds with one stone’.. ‘Done’.. There has been so much rain today that I really feel like I am treading water.. “I feel like I should have my pant legs hiked up, and my hip waders on”.. Now I know what the plants must be feeling like with all the rain.. I trust everyone had a great Thursday as we come even closer to the weekend..  Friday is nearing it’s entrance into this week.. “Is it just me, or has this week been going by fast”?? You would think that time would be slow, and drag on, especially when a person is retired.. I think that maybe keeping somewhat active makes the day fly by.. When I was at the lab today, I seen a poster that talked about your DNA and prescriptions.. They are calling that Treat G plus.. It helps the doctor and pharmacist to give you the right dose, and the right medications.. You go on line and pay for a kit, and it gets delivered to your home.. You get your kit, swab your cheek and mail it out.. What could be easier?? I read a piece on DNA and ancestry and how some people did not like the way some agencies wanted to have the information collected.. Is big brother watching us or what?? It’s scary to think of our DNA information being for sale on the market.. There was a pretty big up roar about privacy.. I think we would loose our privacy even more than we already have.. Heck, it’s bad enough an employer could google you and find out what you are doing on face book.. Keep the things you want secret, just that way, and don’t blab them on line.. Period!!!

DSCN2334.JPG            Dragon Fly hitching a ride…

I was quite surprised to see this Dragon fly land on the marker light of this trailer.. I took a few phots, and he never left.. The view must have great from up there.. A great way to hitch a ride to where ever this trailer was headed.. The ride would be less windy as this is the back of the trailer.. The dragon flies around the campers where plentiful and of different colors.. Most of them would not stay still long enough for my camera to capture them in a still photograph.. This was the only one that stood still.. Believe me I tried.. Funny thing, I did look pretty silly running after a Dragon fly.. I wondered why people were staring.. :O At least I was not flailing my arms around like I was being attacked by a swarm of angry bees.. “Wouldn’t that be pretty funny looking??” The group I was with would likely has gone home and left me behind.. 🙂 No matter how you look at that it would have been out of the ordinary.. “Oh, by the way the inside of the trailer was quite nice, and was pretty well in it’s natural state..

DSCN2314.JPG         This is a Boler trailer…

The inside of this Boler trailer was beautiful yet playful as well.. The décor stood out as soon as you entered the door.. It seemed everyone loves a Boler trailer, and for many years they have been a favorite to all that dream of owning one.. The couple who own this trailer have had it since it was purchased by them many years back.. This 1972 Boler was actual built in Earlton Ontario Canada… Tested by time these small easy to tow trailers are sought after.. When someone puts one up for sale they are gone fast.. To renovate this kind of trailer would be a labor of love.. If I had one I think I would only up date that which needed to be up dated.. I’ve never owned one but I sure would love to have one.. I have rebuilt a Glendale trailer before, and I must say it turned out pretty darn classy.. There are very expensive trailers that spoil people with all the gadgets of a modern home.. Heck, they are like a home on wheels.. There are some trailers that are becoming smaller, with all the needed features for comfort.. We only need a small Trailer as it is only the two of us..

DSCN2313.JPG       This combined Boler and Car are eye catchers..

This is an attractive combination.. This would turn heads as it rolls down the road.. Or even through the busy city main drag.. Can you imagine the comments that people would be saying about this beauty.. It’s an eye catcher, and the owners are very proud of their rolling home on wheels.. This has been fun bring these pieces of art into the light.. There will be more trailers featured in the week coming up.. You take care, and be safe out there.. See you Monday, I gotta go.. Till later.. Treat others well and they will treat you the same… 🙂 🙂

Thanks to all my readers and followers that visit my words each day.. Thanks.. 🙂 🙂   Enjoy these photographs taken by myself.. 🙂 🙂

Lovely…

DSCN2072 (2).JPG           A stream of light quickly reveals a lonely mushroom..

www.marionbell.com/lovely

This is my banter for Thursday September 19th…

Hello everyone:: I imagine your day was pretty darn good, and as I say ‘lovely’.. I hope your families are safe, happy and in good health.. My family is great and seem to be in good spirits.. You know.. I like days, like today.. The breeze was cool and moderate.. I got to get out and harvest some more seeds from the gardens.. I do this every year and use them to bring bright colors around the back yard… I also had to un-pot a few plants that had withered away and died.. They had a good run during the spring and summer.. I have several potted plants that are still blooming, and have right from the start.. I have been keeping a close eye on the peppers I planted from seeds.. They have flowered and are growing larger each day.. Soon it will be time to prune back all the taller plants in preparation of the winter.. Some of the plants in the gardens are still blooming and suppling food for the bees.. We can’t clip those yet.. Maybe with some sweet talking I can get Douglas to wait for a couple weeks before pruning.. I like the bright colors and want to enjoy them till the end..

DSCN2113.JPG       They are watching us…

It was funny to look out the window and see pair of eyes on the tree trunk.. To tell you the truth, it took me awhile to realize the eyes were there… Douglas never even seen them, until I pointed them out.. It was cool to see them keeping an eye on the campground… The silence in the park was a wonderful treat.. It sure was a change for cars revving their engines, and speeding away to something important.. There was no loud music to hear when you were trying to sleep.. All the sounds of a busy city.. I loved the change… I found it lovely.. There are many surprises out there in the world you just have to look out for them.. They’ll surprise you for sure.. Since returning from camping I have felt a calm that I find wonderful.. I know one thing the dogs were glad to be home and around familiar places.. They bark at the squirrels and the little chipmunks.. I encourage the dogs to use their inside voices.. They know what I mean as they lower their voices to a quiet woof.. But, that doesn’t last too long… And the barking starts all over again.. That’s puppy dogs for ya.. 🙂

DSCN2032.JPG        The fog covers the murky waters with a spooky mist..

This is an interesting photograph.. One that can make a person wonder what is out there in the water.. That’s what I had in mind as I watch the water creep closer to where I was standing.. Was there a creature of unthinkable size lurking in the waters.. Could it be an Anaconda slithering it’s way towards a snack that was going to be me.. I stood there watching as the fog drew closer and closer.. My heart was racing as my mind filled with despair and agony.. A frog jumped into the water behind me… I jumped and turned to see what it was.. I seen nothing.. Was my mind playing tricks on me.. There could not be something that large in this shallow water.. But, I was not taking any chances as I backed up the bank of brush and slippery mud.. I kept a close eye on the fog till I was safely inside the trailer.. I should know better than to let my mind wonder into darker places.. :0

DSCN2110.JPG          Another set of eyes making like they are not watching…

As you can see those eyes on the trees keep a look out for the campers that stay there.. The only thing that bothered me was every time I looked out to the front window of the trailer… There were those eyes.. It was as if  the eyes changed their direction each time I looked at them.. And this set of eyes is sporting a long beard.. Really.. That is actually funny.. I wonder if he gets wood chips in his beard??  Well everyone, I’m on the run… Gotta go.. Till later.. Have a great day..  🙂 🙂

I would like to thank all you wonderful people for stopping by to read my banter.. Thanks…:) 🙂  I’m going to take credit for the photographs in this banter.. As I took all of them.. Hope you enjoy.. 🙂 🙂

Amazing day…

DSCN0987.JPG                    A comfortable place to sit, and enjoy the day…

www.marionbell.com/amazing-day

This is my banter for Tuesday August 20th..

Hello all you beautiful people:: Monday has come and gone and we are starting our walk through the week. I hope your Monday was prosperous, and fun for all you came in touch with.. Last night it rained a lot, and for along time.. I went out in the morning with the puppies and stepped into a puddle of water.. I didn’t expect there would be any water on the porch rug.. As I looked towards the stairs, the rug was dry and so were the deck boards.. I think the coolness of the water startled me, as I turned to see what the wet was from.. It was the kind of surprise you get when you are walking around, looking out for doggie bombs.. You watch so carefully, missing everyone you see.. As you turn one doggie bomb gets ya, as it squishes between your toes.. ‘That kind of surprise’.. And, yes.. I have found a few of those, doggie bombs over the years.. The feeling makes your whole body shiver. The water did surprise me.. The air had a coolness to it, yet it was hot. That could be because of the direct sun light we get on our patio doors. I have thermal, black out curtains, and they seem to do a pretty good job. The sun does shine full out on the windows for the better part of the day.. But, any hoo the day was starting out pretty darn nice.. I even found time later in the afternoon to sit on the porch, and play my game..

DSCN1507.JPG         Beautiful peach colored Begonias..

This game drives me insane.. All I want to do is master the cards, so I can win.. The saddest part of the game is that half the time, there are cards that come up and you can’t use them anywhere.. It’s crazy when you are doing good, and you run into a deck that hinders your winning.. It’s very frustrating.. I have had a couple games that if you purchase points you will win.. But, is that all worth it.. I like to keep going on and trying to out smart the game.. Somedays all you can do is win, then there are those days when the game messes with your mind.. I am not a gamer, just a solitaire, yatzy, and cribbage player.. Helps me pass the time when there is nothing to do.. It calms me down, then heats me up again.. My hubby will laugh at me sometimes, as I talk to the game. ‘Yup, that proves it.’ ‘I am going loony.’ It’s a space filler in between loads of laundry. ‘Yes today was the day for doing the laundry.’ ‘I didn’t have much, which was nice.’ That was done and over with long before dinner time.. The couple next door had their grand-daughter through out the day.. They were in their yard, and my two little dogs barked at the little girl.. They would never hurt her, they just act tough.. I have this house that emits a sound they don’t like. I turned it on high and two little dogs stopped barking went inside the house.. It’s nice when things work like that.. DSCN1549.JPG                   Tiny flowers…

As I have said before, picking out something to make for dinner is stressful.. If it was just me I would have a grilled cheese, or egg salad sandwich. That would be good for me.. Unfortunately, that won’t feed two hungry fellas.. There has to be something else to fill the hunger.. Tonight, it was pork tender loin on the barbeque, potatoes, and some kind of veggie.. Right now, I can hear my mind thinking about tomorrows dinner.. ‘Hey, how about Kraft dinner??’ Not in this house.. I’m the only one who would eat it.. I have a meat and potatoes kind of hubby, and grandson.. Once in while a sandwich with fries will hit the spot.. I like to cook, but just sometimes I want a break away from the stove.. I had no idea that Princesses had to work so hard.. Ha! Ha! Only in fairy tales and the movies.. I guess we are all facing the same dilemma each day.. And we carry our burden with pride.. So, cook on, and be proud of what you create.. 🙂 Till later.. Take care and be safe.. 🙂 🙂

At this time I would like to thank those who take the time out of their busy lives to read my banter.. Thanks.. 🙂 🙂  The photos in my banter are taken by myself.. Maggie Enjoy!! 🙂 🙂

Out and about..

car.gif        Cruising down the road…

www.marionbell.com/out-and-about

This is my banter for August 8th.

Today was the kind of day for visiting and driving the car.. I don’t go out much, but today was my trip to see Parker my grand-baby and his mom.. Parker is growing like a weed. And he’s only three months, today.. I arrived just as he finished his bottle. He looked pretty sleepy. I interrupted  his nap time. He managed to smile, and talk a bit to nana.. While I was visiting, their dog was acting very strange. She was really clingy for some reason. Turns out she is like a barometer. When a storm is coming, she wants to be very close to you.. And that she was. She does not like storms with thunder, and really has problems during the storm. The funny thing is, the weather man is calling for a storm coming our way tomorrow. I will be ready for the storm… Thanks to the dog and the weather man. While I was visiting I seen the funniest thing ever. There was a talk show on about male stripers. The male host wanted to learn a few moves from the guys. He came on stage with the stripers for his lesson. The first lesson was the tearing the shirt off. That went well as he pranced out in front of the stripers with his chest pushed out. The next lesson was doing the tear away pants. He pulled the tabs on the pants and they only came off half way. He was pulling and pulling at them, but could not get them off. Finally one the ladies pulled the pants off while he was laying on the floor. He had pale green boxer shorts under the pants. The two co-hosts were killing themselves laughing as he pranced across the stage.. You had to be there.. Honestly.. And to top it all, the host looked like a peanut next to the other stripers.

purple car.jpg          Driving my car on a beautiful day……

The host was a real good sport about the whole ordeal.. Time passed by pretty darn quick, and it was time for me to get moving along. With hugs and kisses taken care of, I was off down the road. The traffic was pretty busy on the roads. I was on my way to Costco. I sat at several sets of lights before I entered the parking lot of Costco. If I metered how busy it was going to be inside by the amount of cars on the outside, this was going to fun.. I’m not a crowds person. I get way too tired after being in one for a bit of time. And I mean a bit… I found a handy cap spot, after only once around the parking lot. That’s pretty darn lucky. I usually have to park quite far away from Costco. I armed myself with the short list of items I needed to pick up. Got a cart, and there in front of me was a very packed store. Moms and children, dads with children, the older set of folks, the cart racers, and the aisle dwellers.. These shoppers come in every shape you can imagine. The basket ball shopper, the short shoppers, the digging shoppers (the ones that leave the table a total mess of the nicely stacked clothing, because the top on the bottom of the pile might be better than the top one) It’s true there out there.. I make my way to my first item, and there was an aisle dweller. I negotiated my cart past the dwellers as soon as I had a clear way.

granny car.jpg         Racing through the store…

I needed to my next thing on the list.. I cut a path behind all the busy shoppers, and went where the freezers were. I was making good time. Buns, in the cart and off I went. Next, pork chops. That took a few minutes as I picked through the top packages. Found a good one and under twenty bucks. I zigged and zagged through the traffic, to the potatoes. I looked over the bag, then sniffed it for any bad potatoes. The only thing I could smell was good clean earth. Next, crackers.. This was a little harder and took more time than I wanted it too. Finally I found them in the middle of the aisle, got it, and off to the next item.. Fruit and that was in plain sight.. I did good all items in cart. Now to the check out.. Every check out was backed up.. I stood patiently as a lady beside was doing the Zumba while she waited. It took fifteen minutes till I reach the cashier. With in a minute or two I was out of there and heading to my car.. On my way to the car I could hear someone honking their horn, and not just once or twice. I turned my head to see a lady in a white car blocking a lady in who needed to get out. This lady in the white car, was the worst picture of inconsiderate that I have ever seen. She would not move for the lady who wanted out. Two people let her know the lady wanted out, and had to leave. But, nope.. She would not move for her. The lady in the white car did move ahead to let another lady out. That car was right beside the one she still had blocked in.. Go figure, what was wrong with that woman!  Then she backs right in beside the lady she had been blocking. The lady in the white car got out of her car and hurried into the store. By the time I left the lady who was blocked in was waiting for her confiner to come out from the store. Exciting day.. Wow! Some people can be so rude..

cars passing.gif    Traffic on the roads..

The high way looked more like a race way. There were car darting in and out between cars. I picked a lane on the road and stuck to it all the way home…. I safely made a soft landing in my drive way. And so, my adventure was over for this week. Till we meet again… Be safe.. 🙂 🙂

I would like to thank all my readers for coming round to read my banter… 🙂 🙂  I want to thank all the wonder artist whos creations adorn my banter, Thanks… 🙂 🙂

Skunks…

DSC_0244.JPG            Looking for sweet nectar….

www.marionbell.com/skunks

Hello everyone… The evening is beautiful here. The day was quite warm with a rain shower early this morning. All in all, not a bad day. I hope your Tuesday was as pleasant as the one I enjoyed. I wish everyone that is under the weather, or sick a speedy recovery. When I was sick, I received some recovery messages from some very wonderful readers. I appreciate your kindness, and your wishes. Thank You! With the rain falling today, I had hoped my rotten head aches would have vanished. But, they tend to hang on like a stocker. They are relentless… GRRRRR.. And if that does not seem like enough, I have hurt my left hip. Which gives me plenty of opportunity to yell out.. ‘OUCH!’ more than usual. I seem to be falling to pieces, and there isn’t a darn thing I can do about it. Age kind of does that to all of us..

DSC_0233.JPG        Colorful flowers bring a smile to our faces…

Today, my banter with everyone is about ‘the Skunk’. That smelly little black and white creature, that comes out at night and stinks up the whole place. They have a way of making your dogs wish they had never seen them. But the dog, as protective as they are, just never see the skunk as danger. I caught one in our yard with my flash light last week. Our silly little dog, being the protector she is, ran right over to the place where the skunk had just gone through the wooden fence. Thank god, there was a Hosta between the dog and the skunk. The dog only received a very small faint bit of spray on her neck. I wondered why I could smell skunk so close to me when she came in the house. There she was trying to remove the smell from her neck. She wiggled and rubbed against the cover, but the smell did not come off. She was just a little stinky, but not enough to banish her from the house. I’m hoping she has not forgotten the insident. But, I highly doubt that she has. Heck, you can say the word ‘Squirrel!’ to her and she’s on the run, chasing the squirrels away from the bird feeder. Our other little dog goes running beside the other dog, and they try to eat each other. They are like two little kids fighting over the number one spot. They don’t bite each other they make it sound like a fight. Crazy critters…

DSC_0229.JPG             Beautiful color……

We have a house across the road, kiddy corner to us. This house has a full family of skunks living under their front deck. Now we know where the skunks are coming from. Our yard is like a fortress. There are stones, boards, sticks, and old plant clippings protecting us from the skunks. I put bleach on the wood, in the hopes this will keep them out. My rabbit does not come around anymore, even the chipmunk keeps his distance. It’s time to eliminate the skunk invasion. I’ve had enough of the smell… So, I hit the internet for some good advice… The nine step elimination prosses seemed pretty straight forward. I was armed and ready to fight.. First off.. Get rid of any fruits, nuts, berries, and any food that would attract them. Check, and double check.. Oops! The bird seed on the ground. Crap, I quickly covered it with a large board, and a couple heavy rocks. Next, protect your garbage cans with a paddle lock. Garbage is in the garage, even better. I was pumped.. Next, get rid of any fresh lawn clippings, as the seeds in the clipping attract the skunk. Check.. Haven’t mowed the lawn in a couple weeks. Trimmed bushes, and vegetation.. Done. Bright solar lights, and motion detector lights. Done. You can use a motion sensor water sprinkler that goes off if they come near. Set near where they go. No lumber or wood piles around. Good.

DSC_0394.JPG         Pretty Daisies….

Onto the next step, get fox and dog urine. What? I’m not chasing my dog around the yard with a small bowl to collect the pee. Are you kidding me??? You can buy the urine from a hardware store, and also pepper spray.. It would be my luck, that if I put my finger on the trigger, the wind would start to blow hard, and I would have a face full of pepper spray.. Next, citrus peels.. Well, I never thought that one would work. You can use orange, or lemon peels spread around the yard. Next, traps.. put a 30L garbage can open end up, against a secure surface so it won’t tip over. Get a 2X4 to use as a ramp for the skunk to get to the cat food you have already put in the can. The skunk will jump in the can for the food, and it can’t climb back out. Thank god for that.. In the morning put the lid on the can, put in truck bed, and take it for a drive. Carry the can out to a clearing near a forest.. Tie a twenty foot rope to the lid, get back and pull the lid off. They say the skunk will just wonder away.. ‘Ya right!’ I wonder how many times this has failed? Or you could call pest control.. Let them do the work.. Next and final step, that makes the most sense to me. Soak old rags in ammonia, and through them under the deck, or near any other opening. Skunks do not like ammonia.. Really, I don’t either..

Well, these are just a few ways to send the skunks running.. I’m getting ammonia tomorrow, and I will try it.. Till latter.. Don’t pet skunks..

I would like to thank you wonderful readers for reading my endless banter, you are wonderful.. 🙂 🙂  As usual the pictures in this banter are taken by myself.. Maggie.. Enjoy…. 🙂 🙂
