This is my banter for Monday September 23rd…

Happy Monday everyone:: This weekend has come and gone in what seems like a streak of lightening.. I also found the heat and mugginess to be similar to the middle of summer… Our Monday is to be a repeat of the past few days.. And there is supposed to be rain mixed in with the heat.. ‘Oh boy.’ ‘I’m sure looking forward to a day like that again.’ ‘If you believe that, then I have some swamp land I could sell you.’ I detest days when your sweating so bad that your clothes are clinging to you and every time you turn your head your hair sticks across your face.. Times like that make me feel a lot growly.. And quite unpleasant.. I trust all of you had a good weekend, and your families are safe and healthy.. Did everyone have a relaxing weekend?? Did anyone go out on any adventures, or do something out of the ordinary?? I hope you did as it’s healthy to step it up, and change your usual day.. I find that it feels good to give something new a chance.. Get out there.. Go to the forest, and watch the wild life there.. Or go paddle a canoe on the lake.. Make some memories.. An old saying said; variety is the spice of life.. And it sure is.. Don’t get caught up in a rut..

DSCN2127.JPG         One duck doing his own thing..

This weekend we did something out of the usual to my surprise.. We went to the water front and sat listening to music.. The band was amazing.. They had the people tapping, and stomping their feet to the music.. It was a nice change from the everyday grind.. There was what we call a ‘Super Hero Stomp’ at the water front… I was super excited to get a few pictures of the super hero’s.. I got a couple.. To tell you the truth I was somewhat disappointed with the turn out.. I was expecting more people.. That’s what I get for expecting a grander event.. But, all in all the day was not a loss.. I took a lot of water front photographs that I need to go through yet.. In time, I’m not in a big rush.. I wanted to take a drive to a tower that lets you see the whole bay we live by.. It would have been nice, but my hips were way to sore for me to make the hike up the top.. I’m hoping next weekend I will be in less pain so I can make the climb… Even if it’s only half way up… The sight will be breath taking with the fall colors.. I can’t wait to take some beauty photos.. I have noticed that we have had a cat visitor hanging around the back yard.. That’s not a good thing.. The squirrels, birds and chipmunks are not fond of the cat.. The cat is pure black and has the most beautiful eyes… He sports a collar and a tag, so I know he has a home..

DSCN2169.JPG          The landscaping at this waterfront is beautiful..

This looks like a train done from the artist’s imagination.. It looked quite nice, and the plants do it justice.. Very pretty.. The water front had many birds, people, and even the odd chipmunk scampering around.. Boats and more boats.. Even a small cruise type boat, came into port to drop off passengers and pick up more passengers for a spin around the lake..  The line up to get on the boat was pretty long.. We would like to go on a dinner cruise one of these days.. I think it would be a fun experience.. As long as I don’t get sea sick.. I have found that I have a tendency to experience that from time to time.. If we don’t get to it this year then it will be a must for next year.. As I sit here tired and ready to end my day.. It’s Sunday night, and it’s warm in the house and outside.. I definitely can’t go outside to cool off, so going to bed soon and turning on the air in the bedroom will help me sleep.. I keep checking the peppers I am growing and they are doing so well.. At the rate they are growing I should have fresh peppers in a couple weeks.. Next year I want to plant a garden similar to how my grandma used to plant them.. Her gardens were very beautiful..

DSCN2131.JPG        A calming place to sit and watch the world go by…

I hope Monday for everyone is as pleasant as it can be.. I know Mondays are not received well by any of us.. But they keep returning each week to antagonize all of us.. So stiff upper lip, and before you know it the day will be over.. Well I am heading to a nice cozy bed.. Take care and please be safe.. Till later.. Have a reasonable Monday… 🙂 🙂

Hey readers thanks for making my day with your visits.. Thanks 🙂 🙂  Just some more of my photos.. Hope you enjoy them… :0 🙂

This is my banter for Monday August 26th…

Hello everyone::  Well, how the heck is everyone on this fine day?? I know, I know Monday is crappy and the start to another week of work, chores, meetings, and god knows what else is waiting for you.. Just think once we get to the end of this week we will be celebrating the last long weekend of the summer.. I will be celebrating my oldest daughter’s Birthday, as she was born on Labor Day September first… Yes, I was one of those lucky ladies in the hospital.. Waiting for September the first to arrive.. My daughter will be fifty this year, and I can hardly believe she is that age.. She is aging well, and does not look near her age.. I recall the doctors, and nurses tossing water balloons at each other while they waited for her… The water balloons were plastic gloves filled with water.. Hey, they had to find someway to celebrate Labor Day.. I was too frozen to be worried.. After all I was in good hands and so was my daughter.. All the fine things  you go through when your young.. I wish you all a free flowing Monday, that glides along quickly enough to make things not so stressful.. Just keep repeating.. ‘The Long weekend is coming.’

DSCN1730 (3).JPG          This bee was filling up before he went back to the hive…

Both days this weekend were filled with sun shine, and cool breezes.. Just the right kind of day to explore the water front, take a walk in a park, or just heat up that barbeque, and have some fun with friends.. I did get spend lots of time outside, and take photos that caught my eye.. I chased bees around to get good pictures of them.. I just love being a shutter bug.. I know lots of other great shutter bugs that chase down that one photo that will catch everyone’s attention.. I take so may photos of one subject.. I take different angles, and pick the best out of the bunch.. I want very much to go to a camping type park to capture whatever I see of interest.. Sitting on the deck I seen an older couple on a two person bicycle.. It looked like it was an original.. I started to take off the lens cover of  the camera, but they were gone.. I almost think I should have a camera in my hand every minute.. With my luck the camera would shut down and by the time it comes back on the moment would be gone.. ‘Darn.’ That picture of the couple would have been a beauty.. Sunday night as I let the dogs out to do their business, I could hear tree frogs singing.. That’s the most beautiful sound ever.. Add a couple crickets and you have wonderful music.. The sounds of nature.. It’s better than the smells of a skunk… The cool breeze and no sun set the stage for a beautiful night to sit outside..

DSCN1772 (2).JPG           This photo is one of my favorites…

This photo is truly beautiful.. I love the way the sun casts it light on the middle of the flowers, and seems to bleach out their true color.. The shadows on the leaves tell a story of a place to hide in cool darkness.. Even the bee can not escape the sun’s light.. I could go on for quite awhile, but I won’t.. Like I have said before, there is always that perfect photo that draws you in, and makes you pause and stare.. My dog is doing well after seeing the vet last week.. She has a fair amount of meds, and has to wear a thing around her neck for a whole week.. She is not too happy about that.. I wouldn’t be either.. I makes it hard for her to drink, and eat.. If wearing, what I call her helmet, is not bad enough.. The pills make her hungry and thirsty.. Plus, she needs to take more frequent visits outside.. I just want this week to end so she feels better.. I have to hide her meds in peanut butter or she won’t take then.. She is just like a baby and as finicky as heck.. She will whine if she wants a drink.. At least she lets me know.. It’s a tricky thing to do with her helmet on her neck.. I’d  have a hard time eating with one of those things on me too…

DSCN1771 (2).JPG            Busy little Bee…

Well, people this chickee is about to get going, and try to accomplish something today.. All of you take care of those you love, and be safe… Till later.. Never be a liar..

I would like to thank all my readers for taking the time out of your busy day to read my banter.. Thanks.. 🙂 🙂   The photos you see in this banter are taken by myself.. I hope you enjoy them.. 🙂 🙂

Outside Time…

                The color of fall….

www.marionbell.com/outside-time

This is my banter for Friday August 23rd..

Hello all you smiling people:: Today was the nicest day in quite sometime.. I hope all of you had the same kind of day or something close to ours.. Friday marks the end of the week and the beginning of the weekend.. This week has flown by so quickly.. In a matter of a week we will be into the last long weekend of 2019.. That seems weird to say and hear that out loud.. I look back and wonder where all the summer went.. ‘Oh, yes’.. ‘I remember the heat, and all the beach goers.’ I seen the car back up on the byway as far as the eye could see.. All the cottage runners and the many campers out for a break from the big city rat race.. Heading for the great out doors.. A time to gather around the campfire, and toast marsh mellows.. People following people in the ritual of summer.. There is still time for the camping, swimming, and out door fun.. We are also running down on the amount of day light we get to experience each day.. ‘I even seen a post some where on Facebook that showed how many days till Christmas’… ‘Are you kidding me??’ Most families have a hard enough time worrying about getting school supplies for their children.. Let alone thinking about Christmas.. ‘Really.’ I have no idea how many think as I do, but I don’t mind waiting a bit to think about Christmas.. It’s not on my to do list yet.’

DSCN1666.JPG           This beautiful plant, is holding water in it’s up turned leaves…

This Thursday was nice and comfortable, with wind, and sun shine.. I did sit outside to take in the beauty of this day.. I sat in the rocker with one of my dogs beside me, and rocked back and forth for what seemed like a long time.. I played that game I love so much.. ‘NOT!’ It helped me pass the time while I got some sun.. I didn’t tan, just sat there and enjoyed the day.. It is still very nice out, but the breeze is getting a lot cooler than earlier today.. Either way, I loved it.. I seen a little chipmunk sitting on the railing of the fence and he was frozen in spot.. The dog was barking at him and I guess he figured, if I don’t move he can’t see me.. Silly logic, but it worked.. I chased the dog into the house and the chipmunk went on his way.. You know I tried the not moving approach.. A lot of good that did me.. I got run over by the dogs.. I ain’t trying that again.. You know I have the craziest little dogs around.. They love to bark at anything, and I mean anything.. They bark at a person talking a few yards down from ours.. They bark at other dog barks.. They drive me nuts.. I know it’s in their nature to bark, but give me a break.. ‘I’ve had enough.’ I have collars, and a sonic house that emits a sound they can hear.. It works, but I feel bad using these things on them all the time.. I think it is just my guilt that makes me feel bad about it… They know how to use their inside voice.. Which is a low woof, and the sign is thumb pressing together with fingers.. Like a duck beak… ‘Why can’t they be quiet?’ I love them and they have always been here for me when no one else was here..

DSCN1679.JPG            This is the chipmunk trying not to be seen by the dog..

Thursday was vet day for Doo.. Yes, her name is Doo.. She is my shadow, and sits as close as she can get to ya.. She is a treasure, that I would never give up.. She has been having some problems with her feet, and licks them a lot.. A little more than I would like her to do.. But, she is doing well, and has a couple meds to take.. By the end of them she should be as right as rain.. This weekend there is a western day, and a crash up burby on and I would surely like to go and see it.. There are a lot more things going on in our area, but some of them do not appeal to me.. The temperatures over the next few days will pretty much be a carbon copy of today.. I like the sounds of that.. In a matter of two weeks the children will be heading back to school.. I can almost hear the happy cheers of parents.. A young fella down the street was showing off his new back pack to anyone that would listen to him.. He’s a talker and runs like the wind.. ‘Oh, to have that much energy again.’ “I would likely hurt myself pretty bad..” “This body isn’t what it used to be when I was younger..”  ‘Hey, I have aged gracefully, and earned every wrinkle I have on my face.’

DSCN1673.JPG              I believe this is a corn flower..

I leave you with this lovely flower… It’s petals curve in such a way that they look like they could spin around in the wind.. This girl has to be on her way.. I wish you all a wonderful Friday and a fabulous weekend.. Till later.. Don’t go running through poison Ivy….

I would like to thank all you wonderful humans for reading my banter.. 🙂 🙂  The phogran driving red lips (2).jpgtos in my banter are from my collection.. Enjoy.. 🙂 🙂

MAGS… Thanks for your great company.. 🙂 🙂

Long weekend..

DSCN1258.JPG            In my garden grows…..

www.marionbell.com/long-weekend

Hello everyone.. I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. The weather here was very hot during the day and cooler in the evenings. Nights like this always make sleeping a little more enjoyable. In my little corner of the universe, we had a gathering of artisans selling their wares. A Festival, that falls on the first long weekend of August. The walkway along the lake, was packed with people, everyday during the long weekend. There are lots of artists that flock to this area, just for the chance to explore the works of others. Or, to have their talents recognized by other artists. There were countless people looking for just that one item that would add a special touch to their surroundings. For those on the hunt for food, there was plenty to eat, beer to drink, and even a few ice-cream venders. I think they used to be called them the Dickie-Dee. These were carts that stood stable in one area. Heck, you could even find the right size of hot tub, or Infinity pool to install in your back yard. You could even put it in your house, for year round fun and exercise. That sounds like a very good deal.. Just think, splashing around in a nice warm pool, while you watch the snow fall outside. ‘What a way to live…’  You could add a new barbeque to the list of summer items you desire. One with three cooking grills, or one that could be used as an entire part of an outdoors kitchen design. The uses and designs are endless…

DSCN1233.JPG Two baby Robins waiting for mom or dad to return with food for them…

As we moved along the walking path, we can upon a carnival set up with rides for the young and the old. Carnival games that required no skill to win. Then, there are other games that take a lot of talent to win, or just a big pocket of money to buy that one stuff toy for a loved one.. Cotton candy, caramel popcorn, candied apples, hot dogs, fries, burgers, and ice-cream by the buckets. Frozen treats to cool you down, and coffee just to give you that little kick you needed to continue on your way. The screams of excited children, as the rides tossed them from side to side, and up and down. The sounds of the carnival ringing in your ears, as music played loudly. So loud that it made me think that there was a contest going on for the loudest noise…. Parents taking pictures of children franticly waving from a ride that will likely scar them to death. Parent patiently standing still, watching, and waiting till the ride stops. The endless trek to the next ride, then wait all over again… ‘Oh, the fun of the carnival.’ The memories playing in your head of your youth, and how you want to run away with the carnival.. The time you barfed on Peggy-Sue, and how mad she was that day on the whirl-around.. What away to find out spinning was not your thing.

DSCN1265.JPG      Fading with time, while new blooms wait to appear…..

The lake filled with parents and children of all ages.. The shade of the trees, where lovers sit and play with their cell phones. ‘Oh, where did love go.’ Picnics on the grass by the lake. The smell of hot dogs, fried chicken, or maybe even take out.. The life guard perched high on a chair, above those seeking the cool of the water.. Little children running away from the small waves the lap upon the shore. Standing still in the water, watching the little fish nibble at your toes… The fun and beauty of a summers day by the lake. Softer music can be heard from the voice of a song bird, as she sings her tune to the people watching in the crowd. Groups on the stage, belting out the tunes, as people dance to the beat. The sounds of a summer festival.. We are now in August, and summer is slipping slowly away. The stores are stocked with back-to-school items. No more summer clothing can be found, as the clothes have been carefully packed away. The sounds of parents and unhappy children shopping in the stores. Parents on edge, as young Johnny decides to run away from them. There he is playing in the toy section of the store. Soon winter clothes, boots and coats will fill the hangers, where summer clothing once hung. Stop rushing the winter retailers. It’s too darn depressing to even think of, at least for me.

To all those, that go to any-kind of festival, carnival, picnic by the lake, or family outing. I wish you all fun and safe journeys.. See you later…. 🙂 🙂

I wish to thank all of my followers, readers, or visitor for being so patient this last week while I was off.. Thank you… 🙂 🙂 As usual the photos in this banter have been taken by myself.. Maggie.. Hope you enjoy.. 🙂 🙂

This past week was rough at times, and still the head aches leave me unable to function. But, I press on and try to not let them stop me. If the weather is to blame, I wish it would stop bothering me. I do feel better than before, but not quite totally healthy. I choose not to go to the doctor as they tend to be quacks, who have no idea what they are doing. I have learned techniques to put my pain at bay. It helps the bad pain disappear. The lingering pain is a pain in the butt, but I will settle for that…. Till later… I wish you all well.. And be safe out there…:) 🙂
