Warm day…

This is my banter for Wednesday September 18th…

Hello everyone:: I just realized and am amazed to see that this month is melting away before us.. It’s the eighteenth of this month already.. It feels like it had just started a week ago.. Time moves way too fast for me.. It seems like the days are too filled with stressful events.. Events that drag you down and make you feel yucky.. We received news today that a young man in his forties was taken to heaven.. I am a firm believer that our children should not pass before us.. Jamie is my step-son from another marriage.. My sons both kept in contact with him all the time.. He had a heart attack, and his wife found him when she returned home on Monday.. His young wife and everyone who knew him will miss him a lot.. So sad how life is taking away so many of our young people.. He is in heaven, and will live on in our thoughts… There will be another bright star in the night skies.. Jamie will be missed… ;-(

DSCN2252.JPG           Through the branches you can see another camper…

Today was not only sad, but also quite warm.. The sun shone down on all of us.. I sat for a while outside, and took in some of the sun’s warmth.. In the morning it was cool but comfortable.. I sat thinking about our next camping adventure.. I thought of a few places that we did not get time to visit.. I wish to go to the park where I took pictures along time ago.. I had several of my photos placed through out the park paper.. I won the photo contest for the park.. I believe I had four photos in the paper.. It was very exciting at the time.. I had a hard time believing I had won.. We have booked the week of October sixth to the fifteenth.. I can hardly wait to take a million photos of the fall colors.. There will be no internet, and no phone service.. Just the way I like it.. Lots of piece and quiet.. I will let everyone know later as to when we will leave.. Till then, I will be here passing on my banter to those that drop by to read my words.. I thank you all for your time..DSCN2261.JPG        The small river that runs from the falls…

This particular picture has caught my eye and remains as one that will stand out like none of the others.. I found such beauty as the water rolled by our camp area.. The sounds of frogs jumping into the water as we sat peacefully in our lawn chairs.. I found the invisible factor of the water intriguing and captivating.. The fallen pieces of limbs tell a story of their vulnerability to the seasons.. The winds, and stormy weather.. A time when a piece of life was stolen from a growing tree.. The limbs will lay there beneath the water, only to tell it’s story to someone else.. I will cherish that story which I had the chance to see and hear.. The river rolls on through the camp, but I know not how far it rambles.. I may follow it one day soon, and reveal where it goes..

DSCN2257.JPG          Blurred in the mess of leaves is a humming bird feeder…

This blur of red stood out behind the clustered leaves.. As I looked further into the leaves I came upon a Humming Bird feeder.. I found the tangled leaves interesting.. They were almost like a porous wall dividing the camp sites from one another..  The flashes of bright sun light fought to find their way through the leaves.. Small creatures could be seen busily moving along as they harvested the treats they need for winter.. Spiders watched through several eyes, as they poised to jump on it’s next victim.. It’s web stretches from limb to limb.. Don’t go running through those limbs as you will be the spiders next victim.. 🙂 ;0  Take care of your loved ones and be safe.. Till later.. Keep your nose into the wind.. 🙂 🙂

I would like to take this time to say thank you to all my wonderful readers who join me each day… 🙂 🙂    All photographs in my banter are taken by myself.. Enjoy.. 🙂 🙂

Home again…

This is my banter for Tuesday September 17th..

Hello everyone:: How was everyone during the past days while I was away? I hope you were all safe, and had lots of fun spending valuable time with your friends or family.. The weather seems to have taken a turn towards the cool side of fall.. I don’t really mind that at all, and I embrace the coming of fall and harvest time.. The fall fairs are popping up all over the world.. The fall fairs bring back a lot of memories of carnival rides, fall fair foods, tractor pulls, smash up derbies, pumpkin pie, candy apples, and cotton candy.. I love going into the stables to watch the farm animals with their handlers proudly being judged by judges.. The smiles on the faces of the children as they receive an award for their animals talents.. Pies, pies and more pies.. Being judged and eaten with the delight of the patrons.. Fall fairs give use a time to break away from the humdrum of regular life.. A time to laugh, relax and indulge in things that are new.. So, if you hear about a fall fair close to you.. Go out and have some fun.. 🙂 🙂

DSCN2053.JPG       Taking a quiet walk through the woods on a service road…

The time away was glorious, and we have decided to go again in October for another get away like we just finished.. I can’t wait to see all the wonderful fall colors, as the leaves turn from green to golds, orange, and reds.. We ventured into some of the small towns around the area, and enjoyed the sights.. I took so many pictures every time we went some where else.. There was a bit of rain which left use in the trailer for the day, but that didn’t bother either of us nor the dogs.. I found the privacy amazing, as where we live is on a corner, and the privacy is limited.. My hubby Douglas seen some chipmunks but I never did.. I see them everyday at home but not one in the wild.. That’s quite funny.. I got to seen the monarch butter fly, and others butter flies.. I love the colors they display as they sail by on wisps of air.. Birds could be heard in and around the camp.. The lone goose looking for it’s mate.. The goose called franticly as it flew back and forth in search of the other.. I could hear the roaring engines of off road bikes, as they revved quickly by.. They never stayed long and their sound faded away in the light of day..

DSCN2283.JPG              The beauty of the night sky..

In the distance we could hear the voices of other campers.. But we barely seen them.. The time was just right to go and enjoy nature.. Douglas seemed to have loved his time away as well.. He didn’t seem to mind that there was no television, and no internet.. We were off line and only played games while sitting across from each other at the table.. A table that was a little on the unbalanced side.. It was funny when we put our elbows on the table and it would dip down and go up on the other person’s side of the table.. I wanted so much to fix the table, but I had no drill to fix it with.. At least it would have been a bit more stable.. It’s all part of camping.. At least it is in my books.. Tomorrow I will call and book our next stay, and pack warm jackets, and doggie sweaters, to keep us warm.. I can’t wait for the next get away.. We had a wonderful time this time, and we are sure we will enjoy our next outing..

DSCN2204 (2).JPG           By the light of the camp fire…

There is no better way to end the night off when you are camping.. We sit by the fire, and watch as the embers sail up to the sky.. As wood crackles in the heat of the fire.. As you can see even the puppies are all enjoying the fire too.. Take care of yourselves and be safe out there.. I must be running, and getting something accomplished.. Till later.. Have a good day… :0 🙂

I would like to thank all the wonderful people who tune in and read my banter each day… Thanks!!  🙂 🙂 As usual the photos are taken by myself.. Enjoy… 🙂 🙂

This is my banter for Wednesday September 4th…

Hello everyone:: I trust your Tuesday was a good one.. I also hope all the children going to school for the first time, and those back to school had a fabulous day.. I believe I could hear the laughter in each mom’s voice as the children waltzed out the door and into school.. It’s time for a break moms, you have done your duty well.. You deserve a much needed relaxing day.. I already know that there are a lot of moms having separation anxiety.. I once experienced the same emotions when my first child rode away on the bus.. Fear not moms for the children will return with all the coverage of their first day in school.. The excitement the children will feel will bubble over into long urgent stories.. The teacher will be mention as will the new friends they had made.. Abstract paintings will be given as gifts to moms.. You are the one loved so deeply.. That is you.. Dad will get chatter about the first day, and see the art displayed on the refridgerator.. The rest of the school days will fall into order, one after the other.. There will still be stories of friends and fun had by each child.. Their confidence will grow, as well as the knowledge they learn each day.. Be proud moms and dads you have done a beautiful job..

DSCN1840 (2).JPGUnable to stand tall, this tree will become a home for other creatures..

I sit here, on this Tuesday night listening to the thunder dance across the dark skies.. A storm has come to play in the trees, and on the ground.. Broken branches whirl to the ground and join the many others scattered around the yard.. Birds fly for the shelter of trees.. They huddle and hang on tight while the storm rages on.. Rain lashes the faces of those caught in this storm, as they rush for shelter.. Lightening, sends a blueish bolt of light across the skies.. All that was dark is turned into a blazing white light.. But only for a few seconds till another bolt of lightening streaks across the sky.. I watch the rain tapping against the dripping windows.. Should I open the door and feel the rain on my face, as I stare into darkness.. Is there something there trying to call me out.. No, I will stand behind this pane of glass and use it as my shield from the darkness around me.. I will not be consumed by the shadows who are watching from the darkness.. The shadows that ride the white bolts of lightening.. I am safe in my fortress of wood and glass.. I am safe..

DSCN1853 (2).JPG         The downed trees lay motionless in the sun light..

All of a sudden there is quiet.. No more roaring thunder.. No more streaking lightening.. I watch by porch light as the night squeezes out the last drip of rain.. The storm has moved on to another place, where it will make it’s self known and felt by all.. This night has been one of wonder, and experience.. I welcome the rain again.. ‘So I don’t have to water the plants’.. The hose usually gets wet when I turn it off.. It sprays a burst of water all down the front of my clothes.. It’s funny, and I’m sure there are those that watch, and laugh.. I feel like a drowned rat caught in a flood.. Early this morning the wind was softly blowing.. It’s strange how things can change so quickly.. In a moment of time.. The storm will be the talk of the day, when the sun shines.. The word will travel fast as others pass it on in a flurry of incorrect accounts.. Now the storm has changed into the worst one seen in years.. The toll it has taken on the beauty around us is devastating.. Trees will have ripped from their roots, and sent sailing through closed windows.. The rain will have filled the streets where no one dares to go.. As the story is told over and over the severity of the storm has been changed.. News of just a rain storm with thunder and lightening is not enough to fill the writer’s space.. Everything can be changed and blown out of reality by the passing of the spoken word..

DSCN1835.JPG       The clouds look as though they are coming from the tree…

Just keep in mind that what you say will be blown out of proportion.. By those who loose contact with the real truth.. Their silver tongues, will waggle as long as they can.. Well, this gal has gotta get out of here.. Have a wonderful Wednesday, and be safe.. Till later.. Speak the truth.. 🙂 🙂

I want to give a special thanks to all my readers for your dedication… 🙂 🙂  The photographs in this banter are a product of my skills in photography.. Enjoy  🙂 🙂

It’s over…

DSCN1950.JPGCame across this stump while at camp this weekend…

www.marionbell.com/its-over

This is my banter for Tuesday September 3rd…

Howdy everyone:: How was your weekend? Mine was great, and the weather was perfect.. The visit to camp was amazing.. My son smoked ribs, and chicken for dinner.. The ribs were fall off the bone good.. All of us kept telling him how good the ribs were.. Both of my son’s are good cooks, and they cook quite often.. With good food and conversation the day passed by way too quickly.. We would have spent more time there, but we needed to get back to the puppies.. I managed to get several photographs while I was there.. Two hundred and two to be exact.. The first photo I posted above caught my eye, and I could not help but find a certain attraction to it.. It’s only a stump of a tree with a web around it, and a curious hole in the stump.. It’s not a big hole but still the hole had me wondering what is inside of the stump.. Was a city of beetles living there, or perhaps a colony of ants had moved in there.. Much to my surprise, I now know what is living in the hole.. If you look closely at the photo you will see what is in there.. It was looking me over as I snapped the photos.. I didn’t see it then, but once I looked at the photo on the screen, I’m glad I didn’t see it.. Take a good look, can you see it.. It kind of creeps me out..

DSCN1962.JPG         Bees do love the nectar from these flowers..

We got to spend some quality time with our new grandson.. He is such a cute little dude, and you can see how much he is loved by his mom and dad.. I believe a lot of the pictures were of him as wiggling around, and making unusual faces.. My hubby got some real good quality time with the baby too.. I think they may have a good start to a good bond between them.. My oldest son had his dogs there with them.. They had a site just a two sites away from his brother.. I spent sometime at his camp and when dinner time was upon us we all spent time at the other son’s site.. Have I got you confused yet?? Well, I feel like I’m getting that way.. ‘You had to be there anyways’.. I took a short walk to see where a set of stairs went.. I must of startled a baby bunny.. He scampered away as fast as he could.. All I could see was this cute little white tail heading away from me.. The stairs just went down to a parking place for visitors, I guess.. Surprisingly the bugs were not an issue.. It must have been too cool for them.. I was happy about that, because there is nothing worse then bugs landing in the food you are trying to eat.. I always have the vision of that bug living in my stomach.. The thought of it makes my skin crawl..

DSCN1953.JPG       This stump with all the textures on it, drew me in..

I just love the uneven cut done to this stump.. The way the fugus has taken it’s place among the peeling bark.. I also love how the stump has a new cluster of leaves that are attempting to grow.. Nature is a wonderous thing.. I hope a lot of people went away this weekend.. If it was anything like the campground we went to, it was busy.. There was a line up to get a visitor’s pass, and the hubby stood in the line for over a half an hour.. The line never went down in size.. In fact the just kept growing with people wanting a camp site.. I would chance to say that all the camp grounds this weekend were busy..  And here we are now starting a new week of work for some and relaxation for others.. It’s the first day back to school.. Children will be dressed in their new duds, with backpacks filled with  school supplies.. Buses will drive them to their schools before the bell rings.. My grandson is starting high school tomorrow and I wish him all the luck on his first day.. 🙂

DSCN1969.JPG      These flowers have such a beautiful color to them…

College students moved into residence this weekend.. Some of them are returning to further their education.. Others, are just new to the college shuffle, and being away from their parents and the safety of home.. Their freedom is a new experience for many.. Their lives will change over the course of the school year.. New beginnings, with new friends, plenty of studying, and partying.. There are no rules.. No time to be in at dark.. No one to set the alarm to wake them up in the morning.. They are  responsible for themselves.. Their education, and their future.. It’s now up to them to control their destany.. Well guys, this chick is getting tired.. so I will be on my way.. Till later.. Keep the right side up..  🙂 🙂

I would like to take this time to thank all my wonderful readers for coming by each day to read my banter.. 🙂 🙂   The photos in my banter are taken by myself.. Enjoy.. 🙂 🙂

Sunshiny day…

DSCN1827 (2).JPG         From my garden to you…

www.marionbell.com/sunshiny-day

This is my banter for Friday August 30th…

Hello everyone:: We got to Friday, and we all know what that means.. That means the start of that long weekend we have been waiting for.. Yahoo!! Get your jeans on and your tee-shirt add some comfortable shoes and pack up the car… The radar shows Florida is bracing for a hurricane.. My thoughts go out to all that live in the effected areas.. Which means that some where along the way, we will be receiving more rain.. As it stands the whole weekend looks fantastic.. Sun and cloud.. It maybe a bit on the cool side so pack up those jackets, sweaters and warm pants.. Get out there for the adventure you have been putting off for too long.. It’s the dead line for the last long weekend in 2019.. Just be safe on the byways…. Have fun, fun, fun… 🙂

DSCN1825 (3).JPG        I found this on the top of a small flowering plant..

I think it looks a lot like a dandelion, but the curious thing about it is I looked for a stem or the reminisce of the plant but there was none.. I looked around under the plants around it, but again there was no stem to be found.. This thing seemed to be wrapped around the top of a flowering plant… The plant has bright blue blooms, and absolutely no white on the plant.. I would chance to guess, that it may be a caterpillar.. It’s just weird how it was just thirty minutes laterand wow it vanished. Today (Thursday) I sat in the cool winds and sunshine of the day.. It was so peaceful, and relaxing, with the exception of a few tiny flies that kept landing on my nose.. They seem to b not afraid of being squashed.. I got a couple, and possibly ate a couple more.. Yummy, protein.. Just what I needed.. ‘I was a little hungry, but not anymore.’ I seen a spider coming across the deck.. He was not that big.. So, I stomped my foot on the deck to scare him off.. ‘Ya right, he wasn’t afraid.’ As small as he was he charged at me at full speed.. ‘Freaked me totally out.’ I was on my feet and looking for something to kill him with.. I turned to find him and he was gone.. What is it with spiders now?? All of a sudden they became brave.. ‘Heck, I had one sneak up on me while I sat on the couch.’ I almost peed my pants it scared me so much.. It wasn’t because it was there, but that it charged at me.. Thank god I was up off the couch or it would have been on me.. I won’t go into what would have happened if he was on me.. :0 I don’t like spiders.. Period..

DSCN1802 (3).JPG       Squirrels.. One of the funniest rodents in my back yard..

Today I captured these two small squirrels as they played in the bird feeder, and chased each other around in the branches of the trees.. This little fella climbed to the top of this plant hook and balanced himself there for quite a bit.. He was looking at the dog, who was watching his antics.. As you can see his buddy is just chill axing on the top board of the fence, and he is watching the neighborhood… He is also sitting on the two by four at the top part of the fence..  Just waiting I  guess.. Or perhaps he is catching his breath..

DSCN1803 (2).JPG        His freind seems to be waiting…

No matter what we think he is doing… I think he’s watching me take his picture.. You notice, he is giving me his best side, and the little paw under the chin… Now, tell me he’s not a diva.. I have a series of photos that depict the climber eating in weird positions..

DSCN1821 (2).JPG

If I had to eat like that I would fall on my head, and I would never be the same again.. Look how he’s holding on.. It looks like he is defying gravity.. Here’s another shot…

DSCN1808 (2).JPG

Don’t ask me what he is doing here.. I’m wondering if he is watching the chipmunk underneath him on the ground.. No matter what it is, he looks pretty weird.. Now this a photo of him eating..

DSCN1805 (2).JPG

Darn, I wish I could hang on like he is.. On the rim of the feeder.. What a show off.. No matter what anyone has to say.. They are a delight to have around.. Even if the older squirrel picks off the buds on the daisies, and sun flower.. Heres another photo…

DSCN1811 (2).JPG

Another upside down eating pose.. What a ham… He just loves the camera..

DSCN1828 (2).JPG

This young one is resting with his butt on the owl.. You see, the owl gets thrown off the tree from time to time.. The owl’s eyes light up at night.. I have attacked the owl with two bungie cords instead of one.. The last cord they chewed through and sent the owl to his death at the bottom of the tree.. As you can see they have managed to push the owl on it’s side, as before it was upright.. My hubby told me this squirrel put his tail over the eyes and the eyes lite up.. Scaring the squirrel out of the tree.. He won’t forget that one .. Now he will really be after the owl..

DSCN1806 (2).JPG

We have these ornamental frogs on the tree.. The frog on the fence was not put there by us.. It was put there by the squirrels.. It is supposed to be under the other frog attached to it’s hooks.. We find the frog on the fence on the ground lots.. He’s easy to knock off the tree..

Well, that’s about it for my banter for Friday.. I hope you enjoy the photos, and my words.. Take care of those you love, and be very safe this weekend.. This gal is leaving the station.. Till later.. Rock on the smile you have… 🙂 🙂

I would like to say thanks to all my readers for taking the time to read my banter.. 🙂 🙂   The photos you have seen in banter have been taken by myself.. Hope you enjoy… 🙂 🙂

Sun then rain..

www.marionbell.com/sun-then-rain

This is my banter for Friday August 16th…

Hello everyone:: How has Your Thursday been? Mine has been productive, and somewhat busy.. I hope yours was about the same as mine was for me.. My day started off quite early as I could not sleep all that well last night.. If I was lucky to get six or seven, that would have been better than what I actually got.. A whole three or four hours, and I can’t believe I haven’t fallen down yet.. I would imagine by eleven I will be crawling up the stairs to bed.. And I will be crawling, not because of the spirits people drink, but because I will not have enough energy to walk up-rite.. I was going to catch a nap earlier, but for some reason I couldn’t find the time.. Just, plain old busy.. On Saturday morning the only thing I will have left to do is vacuum, and wash the floors. Oh, and clean the toilets…My favorite job.. ‘I hope you don’t believe that’.. It’s far from my favorite thing to do.. ‘Way far’… Friday will be a bit on the busy side as well… I have things to prepare for eating.. Speaking of food.. We had pancakes and sausages for dinner.. I got the idea when I was in the basement putting the laundry in the dryer.. I looked up and there staring at me from the pantry cupboard was a bag of pancake mix.. I wonder how many times that would ever happen to anyone, just by looking at somethings.. The pancakes I make are similar to crepes except they are thicker.. As light as ever, with lots of bubble holes.. They sure were good, and my stomach was so sore after I ate just one and a bit.. That was dinner done for another day… ‘Boo Ya’…

DSCN1534.JPG           Pretty in purple.. With a little blue thrown into the mix…

First thing in the morning I went with the hubby to an appointment he had.. That was at 8:30 a.m… Then off to breakfast at the Sunset Grill.. Scrambled eggs, and ham that didn’t excite the palate too much.. Actually, the whole meal was a little on the bland side.. ‘Shoot, I know what I didn’t think of asking for was Frank’s hot sauce’… ‘That stuff will put a zing into anything you eat’.. Once I arrived back home, the darn barbeque had not cleaned itself yet.. ‘Poo, now I have to clean the darn thing’.. I changed into grubby clothes, got a hot bucket of water, some Windex, paper towel, a glass scrapper, and a clean cloth… ‘The cloth would likely never see the light of day again… I advanced on the covered mound of metal in the corner of the deck.. Was there something in there, that would make me regret my choice?? I removed the cover. The dirty mound of metal stood there in front of me.. I flipped the lid open..

DSCN1544.JPG            Yellow with red.. What a striking plant…

‘Oh my God’…. A mouse was looking at me.. I stood back for a moment to give him time to retreat… He made his way down form the barbeque, and ran for cover.. I must have scared the heck out of the poor thing.. ‘I laughed at myself and told myself to buck up, and don’t be wimp’.. Removing the racks and the burner covers, made me a little dirty, but I knew this was going to be dirty job anyways.. I stood back and aimed my Windex at the barbeque as I sprayed everything on the barbeque.. I felt like I was the exterminator… I had all the power in one hand.. I let it set for a couple minutes… With the glass scrapper in my hand, I rolled cooked on grease off the sides, like it was putty.. It was disgusting, and really gross.. My hands were greasy and nasty.. ‘Water would take the oil off,’ I said to myself’.. ‘Guess what it didn’t’.. I kept scrapping as grease and other cooked bits of food fell to the bottom tray.. After about an hour, I had done it.. ‘It was clean!!!’ I put it all back together and covered the huge mound of metal in the corner of the deck.. I was greasy, and looked like had been working under the car, changing the oil.. I cleaned myself with dish soap, and the grease went down the drain…

DSCN1537.JPG             All I have to say is beautiful…

The sun was a little on the warm side and the plants all needed water.. I got the hose attached it to the sprinkler.. Turned on the water, and immediately got wet.. ‘Wow, that feels cold’.. As I ran from the reach of the sprinkler, I felt cold water on my back… I was wet, but I still had to get the water to fall in the right places.. ‘Crap’.. The sprinkler and the trees had ganged up together, and made me even wetter.. I looked like a drowned rat… ‘This look is so fashionable’.. Finally I got the sprinkler in the right spot and went into the house to wipe off… Once the watering was done, I cleaned up, and went inside to rest.. While I was playing my favorite game, I glanced out the patio door to see it was raining.. ‘Are you kidding me’?? After all that the rain watered the grass too.. ‘Oh well’.. The plants will have plenty of water now… I had some laundry to do, and went down the stairs to the washer.. I loaded it up and hit the buttons.. On my way up the stairs, I thought, put pop in the fridge.. I was going to take the half full box, and when I picked up the end furthest away from me was open.. I stood in disbelief  as I watched seven cans of pop dance down the stairs.. ‘Great’.. You know, I was lucky. None of the pop cans opened. But, the cans were not the same shape anymore… There is always a bright side to everything… 🙂 🙂

Well, I need to run… You take care of those you love and have a great Friday and weekend.. See you next week.. Till later.. Always tie your laces… :0 :0

Beautiful Day…

DSCN1477.JPG           This Dragon fly sat still while I took several photos..

www.marionbell.com/beautiful-day

This is my banter for Thursday August 15th..

Hello everyone:: Today was one of those days when you can not help but be outside. The wind was cool, while you were in the shade.. I really hope where every you may be, that you were blessed with a day like the one I had.. Thursday is to be a carbon copy of today.. If that is how it’s going to be, I will be outside most of the day again. Our dogs are used to being in the house all cozied up in their blankets, and sleeping soundly.. Today definitely messed them up good. They sat around outside waiting for me to go in the house. Their sad little faces perched on their tiny paws, was pretty hard to take.. The sight almost broke my heart.. ‘Almost.’ They look so cute when they are trying to get you to do what they want.. It makes me chuckle.. Our dogs are very attacked to me, and every where I go, you can be sure they are not far behind.. Heck.. Sometimes they are so close that I trip over them, or god forbid step on their tiny feet.. I certainly don’t want to do that to them.. Three furry, four legged best friends.. 🙂 🙂 🙂

DSCN1492.JPG        Last night the moon shone so brightly, and this is the photo I captured..

There were a few more plants in need of some tender love and care.. I removed all the yellow, and dead branches. The one plant looked like it was near the end of it’s time.. I did my best to clean it up, then gave it a blast of plant jungle juice.. Now all I have to do is keep my fingers crossed and hope it recovers.. I have a six by six plant box that I planted in the spring. Once everything was planted I covered it with a netting to keep the squirrels, and chipmunk’s out of the garden.. Today I took that net off, and cleaned the very few weeds out, and cut the dead flowers off the stems. The ground cover plants have made the base of the garden very pretty. It’s all white and purple ground cover, and various flowering plants.. It looks better than any other year, and we’ve been here for the past four years.. We are heading into our fifth year.. I’d like to keep the garden uncovered but, the rotten squirrels won’t leave it alone. They just love burring their nuts in the soil.. “Go figure.’ ‘Crazy little vermin.’ Every year I harvest seeds from the flowers and plant them in the spring.. I always forget what they are, but it’s a nice surprise when they start to flower..

DSCN1483.JPG     This is a young cat who has found the place where the birds hang out…

Tomorrow will be, clean out the barbeque.. ‘Yahoo!’ ‘I’m really excited..’ ‘Can you tell?’  It’s a filthy job, and the grease is hard to get off your body once it gets on ya.. I just have to remember not to wipe my hand nor arm across my forehead. I’ll look like I tried to grease up my face to go hunting.. We use the barbeque a lot, even for grilled cheese and garlic bread.. The garlic bread is make from a cut up baguette. The grill seems to bring out the garlic taste. Plus the bread holds up well, and has a crunch to it.. Anything you eat with a crunch is a hit.. Friday I start to prepare the deviled eggs, and the potato salad.. This way on Saturday I won’t be running around like a chicken with my head cut off.. That would not be a pretty sight.. Have you ever seen what a chicken does once it’s head is cut off?  They dance around, and sometimes they even chase ya around.. I know some of you may not like this, but it is the truth.. As a child and through till my late teens, I lived on a farm.. Eight children and we ate chicken a fair bit..

DSCN1489.JPG          This is another capture of the moon on Tuesday night…

I loved this capture of the moon as you can see the leaves of the trees. I did not think I had caught the image but there it was, on the camera.. I’m really hoping that Saturday is going to be beautiful with no rain.. The weather man mentioned sixty percent chance of rain.. But on the weather channel I seen no rain.. Well, we will see who is right on Saturday.. Well, like usual I must run.. Take care of those you love and be kind.. Till later.. Don’t try to run with your pants down… 🙂 🙂

I would like to thank all the people that read my banter each day.. You are wonderful.. 🙂 🙂  As usual the photos in my banter are taken by your truly:: ME.. Maggie.. 🙂 🙂

Visiting camp..

DSCN1457.JPG   Walking around the camp ground.. This caught my eye..

www.marionbell.com/visiting-camp

This is my banter for Monday August 12th..

This weekend we went to visit the camp site of my son and his beautiful wife.. The day was a little on the chilly side, and I actually had to wear a sweater. Wow, what a change from at home.. It was really good to get away. The site was right next to the road in the camp. There was just enough room for them to park their trailer. The space between two trees and the extended awning was six inches. A tight squeeze for sure. And the awning had to be put in when they wanted to use the fire pit. The next time they camp at this KOA, they know which place to ask for by number. The place is set up really well, with trails to walk on, pools to swim in, horse shoe pits, and a large barn where the young and old can go to watch movies. There are a lot more things and adventures to be had by the many campers who stay there all season, or just drop in for a couple days. I would camp there myself, after all the place is well kept… The people seemed nice and friendly as they drive by in their golf carts. There were a lot of golf carts being used. Even a couple for the clean up crew for the camp Those golf carts had rakes, shovels, brooms, and anything else needed to clean up any mess they found. And this camp did recycling. That’s the first time I have seen that.. KOA camps are famous for the environment, and making sure the forested areas are not ruined.

DSCN1409.JPG        A friendly game of horse shoes was had by the fellas…

Little children rode by on their tricycles, and bicycles. Moms and dads walking behind or riding with the children. Our area had a round about, and the active little ones kept riding past us. A mom had stopped to ask if we had seen the little ones riding by. We gave her the direction they were headed in, and off  she went to catch up to them. The next time we saw the little ones they were on scooters their size. They definitely were not going as fast. I guess maybe mom could keep up to them a lot better that way.. There was one little cute gal that tipped her scooter upside down and was pulling it behind her. She actually had the bunch of us giggling as she went by.. She was so cute and smart.. Like I said the place had a safe feel to it, and was very family oriented. The kind of place where the permanent campers watch out for the children. This way everyone knows the children  are safe…

DSCN1423.JPG        Another interesting area that caught my eye….

We sat talking, laughing, and watching Parker as he made the cutest baby faces.. He really has become a camping baby. He loves being outside, as long as he has a place to kick his feet. Once, he had started to get fussy and I put my tablet on a hook on the stroller, and he laid back watching the movie I had put on for him. I have great photos of him kicking his little feet and touching the tablet with his toes.. I even captured great photos of papa and Parker together.. My grand-daughter and her friend rode their bike all over the place in the camp. They even watched a scary movie in the big barn with other people.. We went for a stroll, and I was not paying too much attention to the people, and more attention to the trees and rocks that hid within the trees.. Everyone was wondering what I saw in the trees. But, I knew what I was looking at, as I click my camera, and captured beautiful photos… I have always been able to find images, and interesting parts nature has hidden away from site.. Over this week I will share some of those photos with all of you..

DSCN1459.JPG      There are many hidden treasures. All you have to do is see them..

We had such a wonderful time, and will be doing the trek to camp on the long weekend in September.. It will only be a visit, but I’m very certain the visit will be fun.. Last time I was at this camp ground was when, I used to bring my children there and they always had fun there.. Till then I will be patiently waiting for that weekend to arrive.. This time maybe we will even stay for the camp fire, and sit staring at the ambers dance and float up towards the stars.. There’s no better way to enjoy a fire, except for roasting marsh mellows over the fire, on the end of a stick.. I find the food tastes better when you are camping.. Maybe it’s all that fresh air you breath in while you are there..

Thank you for joining me, and reading my banter… Till tomorrow… Be safe.. 🙂 🙂

I would like to thank all the great readers I have. I appreciate your coming to visit.. Once again all the photos in this banter are taken by me.. Maggie… 🙂 🙂

Long weekend..

DSCN1258.JPG            In my garden grows…..

www.marionbell.com/long-weekend

Hello everyone.. I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. The weather here was very hot during the day and cooler in the evenings. Nights like this always make sleeping a little more enjoyable. In my little corner of the universe, we had a gathering of artisans selling their wares. A Festival, that falls on the first long weekend of August. The walkway along the lake, was packed with people, everyday during the long weekend. There are lots of artists that flock to this area, just for the chance to explore the works of others. Or, to have their talents recognized by other artists. There were countless people looking for just that one item that would add a special touch to their surroundings. For those on the hunt for food, there was plenty to eat, beer to drink, and even a few ice-cream venders. I think they used to be called them the Dickie-Dee. These were carts that stood stable in one area. Heck, you could even find the right size of hot tub, or Infinity pool to install in your back yard. You could even put it in your house, for year round fun and exercise. That sounds like a very good deal.. Just think, splashing around in a nice warm pool, while you watch the snow fall outside. ‘What a way to live…’  You could add a new barbeque to the list of summer items you desire. One with three cooking grills, or one that could be used as an entire part of an outdoors kitchen design. The uses and designs are endless…

DSCN1233.JPG Two baby Robins waiting for mom or dad to return with food for them…

As we moved along the walking path, we can upon a carnival set up with rides for the young and the old. Carnival games that required no skill to win. Then, there are other games that take a lot of talent to win, or just a big pocket of money to buy that one stuff toy for a loved one.. Cotton candy, caramel popcorn, candied apples, hot dogs, fries, burgers, and ice-cream by the buckets. Frozen treats to cool you down, and coffee just to give you that little kick you needed to continue on your way. The screams of excited children, as the rides tossed them from side to side, and up and down. The sounds of the carnival ringing in your ears, as music played loudly. So loud that it made me think that there was a contest going on for the loudest noise…. Parents taking pictures of children franticly waving from a ride that will likely scar them to death. Parent patiently standing still, watching, and waiting till the ride stops. The endless trek to the next ride, then wait all over again… ‘Oh, the fun of the carnival.’ The memories playing in your head of your youth, and how you want to run away with the carnival.. The time you barfed on Peggy-Sue, and how mad she was that day on the whirl-around.. What away to find out spinning was not your thing.

DSCN1265.JPG      Fading with time, while new blooms wait to appear…..

The lake filled with parents and children of all ages.. The shade of the trees, where lovers sit and play with their cell phones. ‘Oh, where did love go.’ Picnics on the grass by the lake. The smell of hot dogs, fried chicken, or maybe even take out.. The life guard perched high on a chair, above those seeking the cool of the water.. Little children running away from the small waves the lap upon the shore. Standing still in the water, watching the little fish nibble at your toes… The fun and beauty of a summers day by the lake. Softer music can be heard from the voice of a song bird, as she sings her tune to the people watching in the crowd. Groups on the stage, belting out the tunes, as people dance to the beat. The sounds of a summer festival.. We are now in August, and summer is slipping slowly away. The stores are stocked with back-to-school items. No more summer clothing can be found, as the clothes have been carefully packed away. The sounds of parents and unhappy children shopping in the stores. Parents on edge, as young Johnny decides to run away from them. There he is playing in the toy section of the store. Soon winter clothes, boots and coats will fill the hangers, where summer clothing once hung. Stop rushing the winter retailers. It’s too darn depressing to even think of, at least for me.

To all those, that go to any-kind of festival, carnival, picnic by the lake, or family outing. I wish you all fun and safe journeys.. See you later…. 🙂 🙂

I wish to thank all of my followers, readers, or visitor for being so patient this last week while I was off.. Thank you… 🙂 🙂 As usual the photos in this banter have been taken by myself.. Maggie.. Hope you enjoy.. 🙂 🙂

This past week was rough at times, and still the head aches leave me unable to function. But, I press on and try to not let them stop me. If the weather is to blame, I wish it would stop bothering me. I do feel better than before, but not quite totally healthy. I choose not to go to the doctor as they tend to be quacks, who have no idea what they are doing. I have learned techniques to put my pain at bay. It helps the bad pain disappear. The lingering pain is a pain in the butt, but I will settle for that…. Till later… I wish you all well.. And be safe out there…:) 🙂

Visiting the garden (7)

DSCN1192.JPG         Our friendly Chipmunk….

Jody had found that talking with her dad was much easier than she had anticipated. With mom and dad holding her hands, Jody was able to tell her story. Dad was very happy that Jasper was never going to get out of prison. Jody and Tory would be safe….
