Walking around the camp ground.. This caught my eye..
This is my banter for Monday August 12th..
This weekend we went to visit the camp site of my son and his beautiful wife.. The day was a little on the chilly side, and I actually had to wear a sweater. Wow, what a change from at home.. It was really good to get away. The site was right next to the road in the camp. There was just enough room for them to park their trailer. The space between two trees and the extended awning was six inches. A tight squeeze for sure. And the awning had to be put in when they wanted to use the fire pit. The next time they camp at this KOA, they know which place to ask for by number. The place is set up really well, with trails to walk on, pools to swim in, horse shoe pits, and a large barn where the young and old can go to watch movies. There are a lot more things and adventures to be had by the many campers who stay there all season, or just drop in for a couple days. I would camp there myself, after all the place is well kept… The people seemed nice and friendly as they drive by in their golf carts. There were a lot of golf carts being used. Even a couple for the clean up crew for the camp Those golf carts had rakes, shovels, brooms, and anything else needed to clean up any mess they found. And this camp did recycling. That’s the first time I have seen that.. KOA camps are famous for the environment, and making sure the forested areas are not ruined.
A friendly game of horse shoes was had by the fellas…
Little children rode by on their tricycles, and bicycles. Moms and dads walking behind or riding with the children. Our area had a round about, and the active little ones kept riding past us. A mom had stopped to ask if we had seen the little ones riding by. We gave her the direction they were headed in, and off she went to catch up to them. The next time we saw the little ones they were on scooters their size. They definitely were not going as fast. I guess maybe mom could keep up to them a lot better that way.. There was one little cute gal that tipped her scooter upside down and was pulling it behind her. She actually had the bunch of us giggling as she went by.. She was so cute and smart.. Like I said the place had a safe feel to it, and was very family oriented. The kind of place where the permanent campers watch out for the children. This way everyone knows the children are safe…
Another interesting area that caught my eye….
We sat talking, laughing, and watching Parker as he made the cutest baby faces.. He really has become a camping baby. He loves being outside, as long as he has a place to kick his feet. Once, he had started to get fussy and I put my tablet on a hook on the stroller, and he laid back watching the movie I had put on for him. I have great photos of him kicking his little feet and touching the tablet with his toes.. I even captured great photos of papa and Parker together.. My grand-daughter and her friend rode their bike all over the place in the camp. They even watched a scary movie in the big barn with other people.. We went for a stroll, and I was not paying too much attention to the people, and more attention to the trees and rocks that hid within the trees.. Everyone was wondering what I saw in the trees. But, I knew what I was looking at, as I click my camera, and captured beautiful photos… I have always been able to find images, and interesting parts nature has hidden away from site.. Over this week I will share some of those photos with all of you..
There are many hidden treasures. All you have to do is see them..
We had such a wonderful time, and will be doing the trek to camp on the long weekend in September.. It will only be a visit, but I’m very certain the visit will be fun.. Last time I was at this camp ground was when, I used to bring my children there and they always had fun there.. Till then I will be patiently waiting for that weekend to arrive.. This time maybe we will even stay for the camp fire, and sit staring at the ambers dance and float up towards the stars.. There’s no better way to enjoy a fire, except for roasting marsh mellows over the fire, on the end of a stick.. I find the food tastes better when you are camping.. Maybe it’s all that fresh air you breath in while you are there..
Thank you for joining me, and reading my banter… Till tomorrow… Be safe.. 🙂 🙂
I would like to thank all the great readers I have. I appreciate your coming to visit.. Once again all the photos in this banter are taken by me.. Maggie… 🙂 🙂
